Caution / 注意
  • After replacing the head unit, do not start the user mode until you exit this menu. If user mode is started by mistake, immediately disconnect the power cable and turn off the power.
    • When the user mode is started in a state where the ink filling is not completed, the nozzle self-diagnosis system detects nozzle missing and performs head cleaning a plurality of times, so that a large amount of ink is consumed.
    • If three consecutive heavy nozzle missing are detected during head cleaning, it is internally determined that the printhead has failed.
  • The sequence ends with error if the consumables run out during the sequence. Make sure to start over if the sequence stopped in the process.


  1. Turn the power ON.
  2. Press [Execution].
  3. Press [OK].
  4. Select the desired paper tray and paper size, and press [Execute] to print the color gradation pattern.
  5. Check the print quality after ink charge by the printed gradation pattern.

  6. Press [OK].

  7. Press [Pattern Print].

  8. Load the “Photo Quality Ink Jet paper” into the paper feeding tray where pattern printing is performed.

    Caution / 注意

    For adjustments after replacing the Head Unit, be sure to use the included special adjustment paper.

    The Photo Quality Ink Jet paper is included in the head ASP package.
  9. Press each setting item button to make the print settings.


    The parameters that can be set are as follows.

    Feed Tray C1, C2, C3, C4, Paper Tray, High Capacity Unit
    Available Paper Sizes A4 (Vertical), Letter (Vertical)
    Caution / 注意

    Make sure the paper orientation is as specified (LEF/Vertical).

    If the orientation is different from the specifications (SEF/Horizontal), the paper will be ejected without being processed correctly and the operation cannot be checked.

    Select the paper tray where EPSON Photo quality ink jet paper is set.
  10. Press [Execution] to print the adjustment pattern.


  11. Check the output adjustment pattern and determine the setting value.

    Adjustment value judgment method

    From the printed pattern, the one with the closest gradation difference between the four blocks and the three horizontal lines is selected, and the numbers in the figure are set as the setting value.

  12. Press [Value] and enter the setting value.

  13. Press [OK] to reflect setting value.

    If you press [Pattern Print] with all values entered, the adjustment values will be reflected.


    By execute printing as it is, output the adjustment pattern after reflecting the adjustment values.

    After the adjustment value is reflected, all the adjustment values input to the panel are cleared. Press [Skip] to end the adjustment.
