Lower Unit

  1. Refer to the following and remove the inner finisher from the printer.
    Inner Finisher Installation Procedure
    Caution / 注意
    • When disconnecting the Inner Finisher Unit from the Main Unit, the power of the Main Unit must be turned off.
  2. Remove the two screws and remove the tray assembly (A).

  3. Open the cartridge cover (A) and remove the Staple Cartridge (B).
  4. Remove 1 screw of the Housing Front (A).

  5. Open the cartridge cover (A) and remove the screw securing the Housing Front.

  6. Lift the Housing Front  (A) to unhook.
  7. Open the right side of the Housing Front  (A) and slide it to the left to remove the interference with the rail (B) and remove the Housing Front (A).


    Check Point / チェックポイント

    Be careful the Housing Front (A) can easily get caught by extension spring on the inside.
    Assembly / 組み立て

    Install the Housing Front (A) with the cartridge cover (B) opening. The protrusion inside the cartridge cover (B) may contact the cover open sensor (C) and damage it.
  8. Remove the 3 holders from the cable guide (A) by using flathead (-) screwdriver.
  9. Disconnect all cables and FFC from Main Board (A).
  10. Release all cables from the cable guide (A).
  11. Release the FFC clamp (A).
  12. Release the cable from 5 clamps.
  13. Remove 1screw, rotate the cover open sensor (A) toward the product to remove the dowel, and lift it upwards to remove it.

  14. Remove the extension spring (A).
  15. Remove the 3 screws fixing the Main Board Assy (A).

  16. Unhook the cable guide (B) from the hole in the Main Board Assy (A) and remove the Main Board Assy (A).
  17. Release the lift motor (A) cable from the clamp.
  18. Remove the cable (A) from the relay connector.
  19. Remove 3 screws and remove the Lift Motor Assy (A).

    Caution / 注意

    If the Lift Motor Assy (A) is removed, the tray sheet metal (B) may come loose and fall.

    When removing the Lift Motor Assy (A), support the tray sheet metal (B) and be careful not to drop it.
  20. Remove 2 screws of the Housing Rear (A).

  21. Open the upper side of the Housing Rear (A) and lift it diagonally upward to remove it.


    Assembly / 組み立て

    Install the Housing Rear by hooking the inner hook to the frame (A).
  22. Remove the E-ring (A) on the front side, then remove the gear (B) and fixing pin (C).


    Caution / 注意

    A pin (A) is attached to the inside of the gear, making it easy to drop when the gear is removed. Be careful not to drop or lose the pin (A).
  23. Remove the E-ring (A) and remove the holder (B).
  24. Remove the timing belt from the gear.


    Assembly / 組み立て

    • Install so that the front and rear tray mounting plates (A) are synchronized.

    • With the front and rear tray mounting plates (A) lowered to the lowest position, hook the timing belt (B) to the gear (C).
  25. Remove the gear (A), remove the pin (B) and bearing (C).


    Caution / 注意

    A pin (A) is attached to the inside of the gear, making it easy to drop when the gear is removed. Be careful not to drop or lose the pin (A).
  26. Remove the E-ring (A) on the rear side and remove the holder (B).
  27. Remove the timing belt (B) from the gear (A).


  28. Remove the gear (A), remove the pin (B) and bearing (C).


    Caution / 注意

    A pin (A) is attached to the inside of the gear, making it easy to drop when the gear is removed. Be careful not to drop or lose the pin (A).
  29. Remove the shaft (A).


    Assembly / 組み立て

    Install the shaft (A) so that the side (B) with two grooves and pin holes faces the front.
  30. Remove the cable (B) from the Stapler Carriage HP Sensor (A) connector.
  31. Lift the left cable guide (A) upward while releasing the dowel by pushing it from the back side of the frame, and remove the left cable guide (A) from the frame.
  32. Mark the cables and connectors (A) that connect to the 2 motors.


    Note / 補足

    Check cable and connector markings during assembly as cables may be mis-inserted.
  33. Disconnect the cables (A) connecting the three motors and release them from the left cable guide (B).
  34. Release the cable from 2 clamps.
  35. Remove the two holders from the right cable guide (A) using a flat-tipped tool such as a flathead screwdriver to release all cables routed to the right cable guide (A).


  36. Remove the right cable guide (A) by releasing the dowel from the back side using flathead screwdriver.
  37. Remove 4 screws and remove the Motor Assy (A).

    Assembly / 組み立て

    Avoid Cam (A) and IN FIN Alignment Paddle HP Sensor (B) from colliding.
  38. Remove the E-ring (A).
  39. Remove 2 screws, then remove the Gear Assy (A).

    • : 3x8D
  40. Install the E-ring (B) to prevent the gear (A) from falling off.
  41. Remove the E-ring (A).
  42. Spread the lever (A) in the direction of the arrow to release the interference with the Sector Gear (B), and remove it.


    Assembly / 組み立て

    Hang the tab of the Sector Gear (A) on the Rear Pulling Unit (B) and attach it.
  43. Slightly lift the front side of the upper housing (A) to remove the hook, and slide the upper housing (A) to the front until the hook hits the cable guide (B).

  44. Remove the top of the housing (A) by lifting it diagonally.

    Assembly / 組み立て

    Attach the two hooks on the housing upper (A) through the holes.
  45. Release the cable (B) of the Upper Unit (A) from the clamp.
  46. Remove 2 screws of the Upper Unit (A).

  47. Remove 1 screw of the Upper Unit (A).

  48. While spreading the front and rear frames outward, remove the four dowels on the Upper Unit (A).


    Assembly / 組み立て

    Insert dowels one by one while widening the frame using a flathead screwdriver.

    Be careful not to get your hands caught.
  49. Pull out the Upper Unit (A) from the tab and remove it.
  50. Remove the extension spring (A).
  51. Remove the E-ring (A) on the front side and remove the bearing (B).
  52. Remove the bearing (A) on the rear side.
  53. Slide the Rear-Edge Tapping Unit (A) to the contact position on the rear frame.
  54. Rotate the Rear-Edge Tapping Unit (A) in the direction of the arrow, release the plate part (B) into the fan-shaped hole (C), remove the front shaft from the hole in the frame, and remove the Rear-Edge Tapping Unit (A).
  55. Turn the Inner Finisher (A) over so that the bottom side faces up.


    Check Point / チェックポイント

    Hold the slider base (A) on the bottom with both hands and rotate it so that the rear side (B) faces downward, which there are few cables and protrusions.

    Be careful not to drop and lose gears, etc.
  56. Remove 1 screw of the Housing Left  (A).

  57. Put your thumbs on the two holes and pull the Left Housing (A) forward, remove the inner dowels and lift upward to remove the Housing Left  (A).


    Assembly / 組み立て

    Hook the 6 hooks of the Housing Left (A) to the 6 holes on the Inner Finisher. After confirming that the hooks are hooked, fit the center dowel.
  58. Release the tab on the front left housing (A) and lift upward to remove the front left housing (A).


    Assembly / 組み立て

    Install the front left housing (A) by hooking the inner hook to the holes on the frame.
  59. Release the tab on the rear left housing (A) and lift upward to remove the rear left housing (A).


    Assembly / 組み立て

    Install the Rear Left Housing by hooking the inner hook (x4) to the frame (A).
  60. Remove the extension spring (A) on the rear side.
  61. Release the dark gray cable (B) of the Solenoid Assy from the cable guide (A) on the front side.
  62. Remove 2 screws of the Solenoid Assy (A) on the front side.

  63. Remove 2 screws of the Solenoid Assy (A) on the rear side.

    • : 3x8D
  64. Remove 2 screws of the Solenoid Assy (A) on the left side.

    • : 3x8D
  65. Slide the slider base (A) to open it to the maximum.
  66. Lift the Solenoid Assy (A) and remove the Solenoid Assy (A) while pulling the cable (B) out of the hole.
  67. Remove the screw that secures the fan assy (A) and release the cable (B) from the clamp.

  68. Remove 2 screws fixing the Fan Assy (A).

    • : 3x8D
  69. Remove the 4 dowels and remove the Fan Assy (A).
  70. Remove the black cable from the relay connector (A), and release the Lower Unit's gray and black mixed cable (C) from the left cable guide (B).


  71. Remove the E-ring (A) on the back side and remove the gear (B).
  72. Remove 2 screws of the Lower Unit (A) on the rear side.

  73. Remove 2 screws of the Lower Unit (A) on the front side.

    • : 3x8D
  74. While expanding the frame on the front side, remove the Lower Unit (A) from the two dowels on the frame.
  75. Remove the guide rail (B) of the Lower Unit (A) from the roller (C) of the stapler unit.
  76. Remove the Lower Unit (A) from the two dowels on the rear frame.
  77. Lift the Lower Unit (A) upwards while letting it escape from interference with the frame, pull out the cable (B) from the hole in the frame, and remove the Lower Unit (A).


    Caution / 注意

    Be careful as the stainless steel hook (B) of the lower unit (A) can easily get caught and deform.
    Assembly / 組み立て
    • Make sure that the transparent film (B) on the front side of the Lower Unit (A) is on top of the Stapler Unit (C).
    • Make sure that the guide rail (A) of the Lower Unit is hooked on the roller (B) of the stapler unit.
