ADF document retainer
Purpose
The document retainer is provided for each of the ADF scanner glasses.
The retainer prevents distortion of scanned images caused by vibration of the printer during scanning.
The retainer plate is the shading white standard for CIS. If the retainer surface is not clean, colors not faithful to the original or lines of dots may appear in scanned images.
Position
- Open the ADF (A).
- Open the ADF reading glass cover (A).
- Clean the reading plate (A) inside the ADF reading glass cover and the document retainer (B) on the bottom of the ADF.
Cleaning method
After visually checking the ADF document retainer, clean with a cleaning cloth if necessary.
