60109 Top Registration Adjustment

Adjust the ink ejection timing from the detection of the leading edge of the paper to the start of printing.

  1. Start the service support mode.
  2. Select [06 Individual Adjustment].
  3. Select the [Main Unit・Additional Cassette] tab.

  4. Select [60109 Top Registration Adjustment].

  5. Press [Pattern Print].
  6. Press each setting item button to make the print settings.


    The parameters that can be set are as follows.

    Setting Items Selection
    Feed Tray C1, C2, C3, C4, Paper Tray, High Capacity Unit
    Available Paper Sizes A4 (Vertical), Letter (Vertical)
    Check Point / チェックポイント

    Match the paper feeder to be adjusted with the paper feed tray for pattern printing.

    e.g., To perform the Paper tray’s top registration adjustment, press [Feed Tray] and select [Paper Tray].
    Caution / 注意

    Make sure the paper orientation is as specified (LEF/Vertical).

    If the orientation is different from the specifications (SEF/Horizontal), the paper will be ejected without being processed correctly and the operation cannot be checked.
  7. Press [Execution] to print the pattern.
  8. Place the adjustment pattern as shown below (with the “Simplex/Surface” notation on top) and measure the amount of margin for each of #3 and #4 with a scale.

    • Distance from paper edge to "◀ #3 mark"
    • Distance from paper edge to "#4▶ mark"
  9. Convert the measured values into panel input values.
    • Input value = measurement value x 10
    • e.g.) Measurement value = 7.5mm, Input value = 75
  10. Press [Paper Type] and select the paper type to be adjusted.


    The parameters that can be set are as follows.

    Setting Items Selection
    Paper Type Plain paper (one-sided), Plain paper (double-sided), Thick paper1/2/3 (double-sided), Envelope, Postcard, Paper for special purpose
  11. Press [#3] and enter the input value #3
  12. Press [#4] and enter the input value #4
  13. Press [OK] to reflect setting value.


    Check Point / チェックポイント
    • If you press [OK] when all the values have not been entered, the following screen will be displayed.
    • If you press [Pattern Print] with all values entered, the adjustment values will be reflected. After the adjustment value is reflected, all the adjustment values input to the panel are cleared. Press [Close] to end the adjustment.


      By execute printing as it is, output the adjustment pattern after reflecting the adjustment values.
    Note / 補足

    In this adjustment, the image is adjusted to the standard position by inputting the measured value of the margin amount to the panel as an input value and calculating the adjustment value inside the program.
    If you want to shift the image to any position (blue frame), determine the input value by referring to the following adjustment value specifications.

    Internal adjustment value = (input value # 4-input value # 3) / 2
    To shift the image 1 mm rightward from the current position (orange frame): Internal adjustment value = 10

    To shift the image 1 mm rightward from the current position (orange frame): Internal adjustment value =-10
