Troubleshooting
| Step | Confirmation and action | YES | NO |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Check the paper feed path At this time, check that the paper is not caught between the High Capacity Unit and the Main Unit. |
Remove any foreign objects or pieces of paper | Go to step 2 |
| 2 | Check the paper feed rollers/sensors for dirt and installation Are the rollers listed in the “Assumed cause” section clean and installed properly? |
Go to step 3 | Clean and reinstall the paper feed rollers. |
| 3 | Check the paper feed rollers for deformation and wear Are the rollers listed in the “Related parts” section deformed or worn? |
Replace the worn out or deformed roller | Go to step 4 |
| 4 | Check the Torque Limiter Can you rotate the Retard Roller by hand? |
Go to step 5 | Replace the retard torque limiter. |
| 5 | Check the operation of the C1 Paper Feed Sensor Check operation of the C1 Paper Feed Sensor with the diagnostic function. Does the signal change between when the paper is placed and when it is not? |
Go to step 7 | Go to step 6 |
| 6 | Check the C1 Paper Feed Sensor for installation, dirt, and connector connection Is the C1 Paper Feed Sensor installed improperly? Is there dirt on the sensor? Is the connector not fully inserted? AIs the connector of the C1 Pickup Unit incompletely inserted? |
Clean the sensor surface, reinstall the sensor, or fully insert the connector. | Replace the sensor |
| 7 | Checking the installation of the HC paper feed clutch and C1 Pickup Clutch Is the clutch installed properly? |
Go to step 8 | Reinstall it properly. |
| 8 | Checking the operation of the HC paper feed clutch and C1 Pickup Clutch Check the clutch operation with the diagnostic function. Does it make an operating sound (clutch connection sound)? |
Go to step 10 | Go to step 9 |
| 9 | Check the HC Pickup Clutch and C1 Pickup Clutch for connection Are any of the connectors connecting the clutch not fully inserted? |
Fully insert the connectors | Replace the parts one by one.
|
| 10 | Check operation of the All Drive Motor and HC Paper Feed Motor Check the operation of the corresponding All Drive Motor and HC Paper Feed Motor with the diagnostic function. Is there any abnormal noise? |
Replace the gear trains, All Drive Motor, or the HC Paper Feed Motor. |
