Unreached Paper Jam: High Capacity Unit

Occurrence condition

  • When feeding paper from the High Capacity Unit, the PF paper detection sensor does not turn ON after specified time has elapsed.

Check paper transport path

  • Is there any foreign substances, paper chips, etc. in the paper transport path?
    At this time, check that the paper is not caught between the High Capacity Unit and the Main Unit.
 Remove foreign matter, paper fragments, etc. Go to step 2

Check the paper transport roller sensor for dirt and installation

  • Are the roller sensors listed on the defect-related parts clean and properly installed?
    Also, is the load spring of the roller disengaged?
 Go to step 3

Cleaning or reinstalling the roller and sensor

Check the paper feed rollers for deformation and wear

  • Are the rollers listed in the “Related parts” section deformed or worn?
 Replace the worn out or deformed roller Go to step 4

Attach sensor and check connector connection

  • Is there any abnormality in the sensor or half-inserted in the connector?
 Connect securely

Replace sequentially

Check clutch operation
Check the clutch operation with the diagnostic function.

  • Judgment: Is there operation sound?

Check the connection of the malfunctioning clutch connector

  • Is the connector up to the Clutch half-inserted?
 Connect them firmly.

Replace the parts one by one.

Board replacement and confirmation of phenomenon reproduction

  • Replace the Controller Board and check the reproduction of the phenomenon for the content of the defect report.
