Enable Password Encryption

  • Since it is a function related to data managed by the customer, it must be executed by the customer himself or with the consent of the customer.
  • When enabling the password encryption function, it is necessary to backup the password encryption restore key to a USB memory.
    Prepare the USB memory for backup in advance by yourself (the required free space of the USB memory is 1MB, and the file name is "serial number" .key).
  • In the event of a TPM board failure, a USB memory with a restore key is always required to restore customer data. Tell the customer to that effect and keep it in a safe place.
  1. Select [Settings] on the home screen.

  2. Select [Main Unit Settings]-[Administrator Settings]-[Security Settings]-[Password Encryption].

  3. Set [Password Encryption] to [On]. Confirm the message is displayed and tap [OK].

  4. Select [Proceed to backup].

  5. The encryption key backup screen appears.

  6. Insert the USB memory into the USB port for connecting the external device of the printer.

  7. Press [Start Backup].

  8. Start writing to the USB memory. If the encryption key is already stored in the USB memory, it will be overwritten.

  9. When the backup completion message appears, press [Close].

  10. Press the power button to turn off the printer.

  11. Press the power button to turn on the printer.

  12. Sensitive information is encrypted. The printer may take longer to start up than usual.
