HDD Specifications

This product has a built-in 320 GB HDD used for temporary storage of spool data and authenticated print data when copying and printing.

In addition, an additional HDD (total capacity of 320 GB) can be added as an option, and a mirroring system can be constructed by installing it. (Cannot be used for anything other than mirroring)

important / 重要
  • HDD may contain customer's private information. Therefore, you should handle with care when repairing HDD failure or removing the machine when contract ends.
  • When erasing data stored on HDD, see "Security Functions related to HDD" to announce your customer and perform erasing.

  • Security function using encryption technology for e-mail software. Used for non-repudiation of origin (using digital signature), privacy and data confidentiality (using encryption).

*: Epson Open Platform is a platform that displays the user interface provided by the server of the authentication system on Epson printers and realizes various functions using the server. It supports services such as managing users and jobs in cooperation with the server.

Security Functions related to HDD

Provide guidance to customers who want to improve their security of HDD, and customers who need to erase the information saved on HDD when replacing the HDD or removing the machine.

important / 重要
  • This erasing function can be executed by user menu. Execute the menu by customer, or execute with permission of the customer.
  • If the data erasing function cannot be done due to HDD failure, take measures to protect data from third parties, such as destruction of the HDD under the customer's confirmation.

Auto Erase Memory Settings

Print data stored temporarily on HDD is automatically erased when its printing is finished. (Default setting: Off (Disabled))

Auto erasing targets are as follows: (See "List of partitions used for HDD")

  • No.1: Copy storage area
  • No.2: Print storage area
  • No.3: Authentication print storage area

Follow the steps below:[Settings] > [General Settings] > [System Administration] > [HDD Erase Settings] > [Auto Erase Memory Settings] > [On]

Erase All Memory

High Speed
  • Stored data is invalidated by changing the HDD encryption information.

  • No other operations including power off using the control panel button is accepted during the erasing process.

  • Operation cannot be cancelled
  • Required time: few sec.

Follow the steps below:[Settings] > [General Settings] > [System Administration] > [HDD Erase Settings] > [Erase All Memory] > [High Speed]

Overwrite

  • Stored data is invalidated by changing the HDD encryption information (same as "High Speed") and by writing "00" to all storage areas in HDD.

  • No other operations including power off using the control panel button is accepted during the erasing process.
  • If cancel is selected during the erasing process, process stops immediately; however, some data is already erased and cannot be recovered.
  • Required time: about 60 min.

Follow the steps below:[Settings] > [General Settings] > [System Administration] > [HDD Erase Settings] > [Erase All Memory] > [Overwrite]

Triple Overwrite
  • Repeat same process as "High Speed" three times.

  • No other operations including power off using the control panel button is accepted during the erasing process.
  • If cancel is selected during the erasing process, process stops immediately; however, some data is already erased and cannot be recovered.
  • Required time: about 280 min.

Erase All Data and Settings

The product is reset to the initial state, and setting information, personal information, and confidential information of the product including HDD will be deleted.
