Occurrence condition
  • C1 Motor cannot operate due to large motor load
  • C2 Motor cannot operate due to large motor load
  • C3 Motor cannot operate due to large motor load
  • C4 Motor cannot operate due to large motor load

  • C1 Motor cannot rotate
  • C2 Motor cannot rotate
  • C3 Motor cannot rotate
  • C4 Motor cannot rotate
Assumed cause
  • Incorrect setting of paper, setting of number of sheets exceeding specifications
  • Foreign materials in the cassette
  • Gear trains for lifting cassette are damaged or have foreign objects.
  • The load when the hopper moves up is unexpectedly high
  • The load on the cassette lift-up motor exceeds the expectation and the motor does not rotate at all

Check paper cassette (1)
Is the cassette free from foreign objects? Is the stack of paper loaded in the cassette within the limited capacity? Is the stack of paper loaded correctly?

 Go to step 2 Reduce the number of sheets of paper or remove foreign objects.

Check cassette (2)
Does the cassette operate normally?
Does the cassette hopper mechanism operate normally?

 Go to step 3 Replace the Cassette Unit

Check the gear trains
Check the gear trains of the lift-up mechanism of the target cassette. Are they free from foreign objects or damage?

Replace the mechanical control board and then the Main Board.
(If the problem persists, contact Epson local service representatives)

Remove the foreign objects or replace the Lift Up Motor, C1-C4.
