SCN tooth skipping error

Error code
  • 100024 SCN tooth skipping error
Occurrence condition
  • When scanning/copying on a flatbed, it cannot be detected the SCN carriage has returned to the home position after the scanning process is completed.
Assumed cause
  • Document glass was strongly pressed down during the scanning process (tooth skipped)
  • CIS module carriage sensor flag damaged
  • SCN carriage HP sensor failure

SCN carriage operation check

  • Restart the power and perform the copy/scan process on the flatbed (do not press down strongly on the document glass at this time).
    Does the error still occur?
Go to step 2

*Ask customers not to press down strongly on the document table when scanning.

Check harness connection

  • Check that there is no error in the harness connected to the SCN carriage HP sensor. If there is an error, reconnect the harness.
    Does the error still occur?

Check the SCN carriage installation status

  • Check if there is any error in the mounting condition of the SCN carriage (falling off from the wheel gear parts, damage). If there is an error, correct the condition.
    Does the error still occur?

Replace the SCN Unit.
