Normal error (Recoverable error) is an error that can be resolved by following the guidance on the panel.

Normal error (Recoverable error) have an error code internally. However, the error code will not be displayed on the panel (Fatal error will be displayed on the panel). Normal error code can be confirmed by the following.)

  • Service Status Sheet
  • Service Information Portal (only for Japan)

Sub-type code indicating more detailed content is added to the following errors, and the code (refer to the sub-type code) is displayed where the sub-type code is displayed.

  • Paper Jam Errors
  • Ink recognition error (Read), ink recognition error (Write), initial filling ink shortage warning error, initial filling I/C error, ink recognition error (non-genuine)
  • Maintenance box recognition error (Write), Maintenance box initial filling failure error, Maintenance box recognition error (Unauthorized)

For errors other the above, no sub-type code is added, and "0" is displayed at the sub-type code display.

Check the fatal error history and take appropriate action. Then, check the following.

  1. Check whether a fatal error occurs at the same time as the error occurs from checking error history.
  2. If a fatal error has occurred, remove the cause of the fatal error and resolve the fatal error.
  3. Check the phenomenon reproduction.

  • Check the folder path.
  • Make sure the network cable is connected properly.
  • Check network settings (IP address, subnet mask, default gateway).
  • Check the access point settings.
  • Check your firewall settings.
  • Check the server (the server may be down)
  • Check if the file with the same name in the save destination is left open.
  • Check if the same destination file is write-protected.
940013 Invalid destination error (Folder) Displayed when the specified destination does not exist. Check that the destination settings are correct below.

940014 Folder full Displayed when save failed due to insufficient space in the destination folder. Increase the free space of the save destination.
940015 Received data are corrupted Displayed when the received data to reprint has been deleted.
940016 Warning - Invalid preview Displayed when the preview button is pressed while the direct send is enabled. Disable direct send.
940017 Invalid Scheduled transmission Displayed when the color start button is pressed while the scheduled sending is selected. Hereafter, respond according to the intended use.
  • If you want to send in color, send without specifying the time.
  • If you want to send at a specified time, select monochrome and send.
940020 Invalid multiple contacts - Fax Displayed when the color start button is pressed while multiple contacts are selected. Hereafter, respond according to the intended use.
  • If you want to send in color, send each one separately.
  • If you want to broadcast, select monochrome and send.
940021 Invalid 2-sided color send -Fax Displayed when the color start button is pressed while 2-sided scan is enabled. Hereafter, respond according to the intended use.
  • If you want to send in color, cancel double-sided scanning.
  • To perform double-sided scanning, select monochrome and send.
940022 Invalid ECM off send - Fax Displayed when the color start button is pressed while ECM setting is disabled. Hereafter, respond according to the intended use.
  • If you want to send in color, enable the ECM setting.
  • If you cannot change the ECM settings, select monochrome.
940024 Invalid Hook operation Displayed when the on-hook dial button is pressed while the lie is busy. Wait for the line to be free and try again.
940025 Dial buffer full Displayed when the number is entered when the dial buffer is full with on hook dial. Wait for the entered dial data to be processed and the buffer to be free.
940029 Paper size mismatch Displayed when the Fax to Print is started while the loaded paper size is smaller than the fax data size to print. Load paper of the correct size.
940030 Memory removed Displayed when the Media is removed while saving or creating a folder. Connect the media and try again.
940031 Memory full Displayed when the media that has not enough space is inserted to save received faxes. Connect media with free space and try again.
940032 Memory write protected Displayed when the write-protected media is connected for saving received faxes, or a storage folder for received faxes is to be created in a write-protected media. Release the media setting (write protection).
Connect media that is not write-protected.
940033 Memory write failure Displayed when the write error has occurred during received faxes saving. Reconnect the media.
Connect a different media. (The folder must have been created by creating a save-only folder.)
940034 FAX configuration change are invalid (Fax function is in use) Displayed when the Fax settings are to be changed while fax function is used. After confirming that the fax has been used, change the settings.
940035 FAX configuration change are invalid (PC is in use) Displayed when the Fax settings are to be changed while changing the fax settings through the PC. Confirm that the fax setting change from the PC has been completed, and then change the setting.
940036 Fax configuration are invalid (Mail server is not set) Displayed when the mail is selected in transfer settings without setting the mail server. Configure the mail server settings.
940037 Fax configuration are invalid (Mail server is not connected) Displayed when the mail is selected in transfer settings while mail server is not connected. Check the connection with the mail server and establish the connection.
940038 Fax Board failure Displayed when the Fax Board is in failure. Replace the Fax Board.
940039 Fax power supply failure Displayed when the Fax Power Supply is in failure. Replace the Fax Board.
940040 Expansion Fax Board failure Displayed when the connected fax expansion unit is in failure. Replace the defective component.
940041 Expansion Fax ROM mismatch error Displayed when the firmware version of the connected fax expansion unit does not match that of the main unit. Update the firmware.
940042 Expansion Fax disconnection error Displayed when the connected fax expansion unit was physically disconnected during operation. Repair and restore the connection.
940043 Expansion Fax update failure A malfunction occurred at startup because the update of the firmware of the fax expansion unit was interrupted due to a power failure, etc. Execute the FW update. If not solved, replace it.
940044 Expansion Fax overvoltage error A hardware failure caused an overcurrent in the fax expansion unit. Since the relay board of the connected fax expansion board is defective, replace it.
940045 FAX to E-mail transmission prohibited due to domain restrictions Displayed when the destination e-mail address contains a domain that is not allowed or prohibited by the administrator. Consult with your administrator to review your e-mail address domain restriction settings.
950000 Scan to e-mail DNS error - Displayed when the DNS server settings are invalid. Check the DNS settings on the printer.

950001 Communication error Scan to e-mail - Displayed when the communication error has occurred during Scan to Email.
  • Check SMTP server address and port.
  • Check POP3 server address and port.
  • Check network settings.

  • Make sure the network cable is connected properly.
  • Check if the address is correct.
  • Check the access point settings.

950002 Authentication Error Scan to e-mail - Displayed when the authentication settings of the mail server are invalid.
  • Check the authentication method.
  • Check SMTP server address and port.
  • Check POP3 server address and port.
  • Check the account name.
  • Confirm the password.
