  • 31 Post-Reversal Sensor Unreached Paper Jam
Occurrence condition
  • Pre-Printing Paper Sensor does not turn on after the specified time has elapsed since the target Registration Roller Clutch is turned on.
Assumed cause
  • Foreign objects or pieces of paper in the paper transport path
  • Post-Reversal Sensor has a dirty surface, has fallen off, or is faulty
  • Reversing Roller 1 and 2 are worn out, deformed, have fallen off, or have a dirty surface
  • Reverse Drive Motor failure
  • The Registration Roller Clutch has fallen off or is faulty
  • Failure of the Main Unit Motor, Belt Motor
  • Mechanical control board failure

Check the operation of the Post-Path Switching Sensor

Check the operation of the Post-Reversal Sensor with the diagnostic function.

Does the signal change between when the paper is placed and when it is not?

Check the Post-Reversal Sensor for installation, dirt, and connector connection

Is the Post-Reversal Sensor installed improperly? Is there dirt on the sensor? Is the connector not fully inserted?

Is the relay connector on the D3 Cover side not fully inserted?

Clean the sensor surface, or fully insert the connector.

Replace sequentially

  • Post-Path Switching Sensor
  • D3 Cover (DUP, UPPER, ASSY)
  • Mechanical control board

Check the Reverse Roller 1 and 2 for dirt and installation

Are the rollers listed in the “Assumed cause” section clean and installed properly?

Go to step 5

Clean and reinstall the paper feed rollers.

Check the Reverse Roller 1 and 2 for deformation and wear

Are the rollers listed in the “Assumed cause” section deformed or worn?

Replace the worn out or deformed roller Go to step 6

Check the operation of the Reverse Drive Motor

Check the operation of the corresponding motor with the diagnostic function.

Is there any abnormal noise?

Replace the D1 Cover (Paper, TRAY, UNIT). Go to step 7

Check the operation of the Belt Motor

Check the operation of the corresponding Belt Motor with the diagnostic function.

Is there any abnormal noise?

Replace the Belt Drawer Unit (BELT, UNIT). Go to step 8

Check the Registration Roller

Check the clutch operation with the diagnostic function. Are the connectors connecting the clutch fully inserted?

Does it make an operating sound (clutch connection sound)?

Replace sequentially

  • Replace the gear trains or the Main Unit Motor.
  • Mechanical control board

Replace sequentially

  • Registration Roller Clutch
  • Regist Unit (RESIST, UPPER, ASSY)
