How to use an Inclinometer ASSY

  1. Open the ADF (A).


  2. Place the inclinometer on the horizontal surface at the front right side of the scanner so that the iron ball and scale line inside are visible.

    Caution / 注意
    • Place the inclinometer on the exterior surface (do not place it on the document tray to prevent scratching the glass surface)

  3. The position of the iron ball inside the inclinometer at rest and the position of the inclinometer's scale line determine whether the installation position of the main unit is correct or wrong.

    • If the main unit installation position is OK: Installation completed

    • If the main unit installation position is Not OK: Changing the installation environment

    • The judgement method of the results
      The judgement method of the results using an inclinometer to check the installation position of the main unit is varies depending on the floor material.
      • If the floor material is hard
        • OK (Blue mark)：The iron ball (C) is inside the scale line (A).
        • Not OK (Red mark)：The iron ball (C) is not inside the scale line (A).
      • If the floor material is soft (long-pile carpet, etc.)
        • OK (Blue mark)：The iron ball (C) is inside the scale line (B).
        • Not OK (Red mark)：The iron ball (C) is not inside the scale line (B).
