Error code
  • 000861 PWC PID overload error
  • 000863 PWC PID reverse error
  • 000864 PWC PID lock error
Occurrence condition
  • The PW CR Drive Motor cannot operate due to large motor load
  • The PW CR Drive Motor is rotating in reverse
  • The PW CR Drive Motor cannot rotate
Assumed cause
  • When the motor rotates in a direction different from the rotation direction (there was a sudden load abnormality, and the motor rotated in the opposite direction due to the reaction force)

  • Power is not supplied to the motor, or the motor cannot rotate at all.

  • The load on the motor is greater than expected.

Check for foreign objects

Check for foreign objects in the path of carriage movement for PW detection. 

No abnormality?

Go to step 2 Remove foreign objects.

Check the gear trains for damage

Visually check the gear trains of the PW CR Drive mechanism for foreign objects, falling off or damage, and for proper belt installation, and reassemble if necessary.

Does the error still occur?

Go to step 3 End

Check the cables/harnesses that connect the PW CR Drive Motor and HP Sensor, the HP Sensor and mechanical control board, the mechanical control board and the Main Board.

Visually check the cables/harnesses that connect the PW CR Drive Motor and HP Sensor, the HP Sensor and mechanical control board, the mechanical control board and the Main Board, and if there are any cables that are not fully inserted in the connector or disconnected, reconnect them.

Does the error still occur?

Go to step 4 End
4

Replace the PW CR Drive Unit

Replace the PW CR Drive Unit and see if the symptom described in the defect report occurs again.

Does the error still occur?

Go to step 5 End
5

Replace the suspected part

Replace the mechanical control board and then the Main Board.
