ADF / Scanner Trouble

Image failure

Dark lines(excluding printing from PC)
  • When it occurs constantly
    Clean the glass of the ADF.

  • When it occurs constantly
    Clean the paper feed path included glass surface of ADF.

If the problem persists after cleaning, replace the ADF/SCN Unit.
Part or the whole of the image is not read
  1. Clean the glass surface of the ADF and document placed.
  2. Check connection of the SCN cable.
  3. If the size of the scanned document does not match the size recognized by the printer, there is possibility the SCN document size sensor failure.

If the problem persists after treatment, replace the ADF/SCN Unit.
The scanned image is too faint
  • Cleaning the reading glass (CIS module)
  • Dirt on the back of the flatbed glass

If the problem persists after treatment, replace the ADF/SCN Unit.
The scanned image is skewed to the paper fed from the ADF input tray

  • Check that the height of the ADF is appropriate for the document placed.

  • Check that the ADF is installed parallel to the document placed.

If the problem persists after treatment, replace the ADF/SCN Unit.

Other print quality problems occurred only when copying

  1. Cleaning the document scanning glass

  2. Reconnect the SCN cables

If the problem persists after treatment, replace the ADF/SCN Unit.
Transport Failure
Symptom Confirmation and action Parts replacement / Adjustment
Multi-Feed Clean the Pickup Roller, ADF (3 places).

If the problem persists after cleaning, replace the Pickup Roller, ADF
Manuscript fold Check if there is any foreign substances or damage in the ADF transport path.

After cleaning the inside of the path, replace the ADF unit if any damage is found.
Paper jam occurs frequently in fed from the ADF input tray

  • Check that the ADF is closed properly.

  • Clean the Pickup Roller, ADF (3 places).

  • Clean the ADF transport path.

  • Clean the surface of the Pickup Roller.

  • Clean the retard cover separation pad.

  • Check the retard cover and retard roller are installed correctly.

If the problem persists after cleaning, replace the pickup roller, separation roller.
