WIP PID reverse error / WIP PID lock error / WIP PID overload error

Error code
  • 000381 WIP PID overload error
  • 000383 WIP PID reverse error
  • 000384 WIP PID lock error
Occurrence condition
  • The Wiper Drive Motor cannot rotate due to large motor load
  • The Wiper Drive Motor is rotating in reverse
  • The Wiper Drive Motor cannot rotate
Assumed cause
  • When the motor rotates in a direction different from the rotation direction (there was a sudden load abnormality, and the motor rotated in the opposite direction due to the reaction force)
  • Power not turn on or motor cannot rotate at all
  • The motor load exceeds the expected
Related parts
  • Harness polarity wrong
  • Wiper HP Sensor
  • Wiper Drive Encoder
  • Wiper Drive Motor
  • Locked by the Wiper Cleaner
  • The motor load exceeds the expected
  • Damage or foreign substances to rotating component part
  • MCU Board
  • Main Board
Troubleshooting
Step Confirmation and action YES NO
1

Check for foreign substances

Check for foreign objects in the path of wiper movement. Is the path free from foreign objects?

If you have removed and reinstalled the Wiper carriage guide rail, is it installed properly?

Go to step 2

Remove foreign substances

Reinstall the guide rail properly.

2

Check a damage of rotating component part
Visually check the rotating component parts of Wiper drive mechanism missing or damages, and reassemble if necessary.

Is the trouble phenomenon still occurring?

Go to step 3 End
3

Check cable between HP Sensor, Wiper and MCU Board

Visually check the cable between HP Sensor, Wiper and MCU Board, reconnect the cable if there is any half-insertion or disconnection.

Is the trouble phenomenon still occurring?

Go to step 4 End

4

Replace the HP Sensor, Wiper
Replace the Wiper HP Sensor and see if the symptom described in the defect report occurs again.
Go to step 5 End
5

Check the cable between Wiper Drive Encoder and MCU Board

Visually check the cable between Wiper Drive Encoder and MCU Board, reconnect the cable if there is any half-insertion or disconnection.

Is the trouble phenomenon still occurring?

Go to step 6 End
6

Check the cable between Wiper Drive Motor and MCU Board

Visually check the cable between Wiper Drive Motor and MCU Board, reconnect the cable if there is any half-insertion or disconnection.

Is the trouble phenomenon still occurring?

Go to step 7 End
7

Replace the Wiper Drive Motor

Replace the Wiper Drive Motor and see if the symptom described in the defect report occurs again.

Is the trouble phenomenon still occurring?

Go to step 8 End
8

Replace the Wiper Cleaner
Replace the Wiper Cleaner and see if the symptom described in the defect report occurs again.

Is the trouble phenomenon still occurring?

Go to step 9 End
9

Parts replacement
Replace the MCU Board and the Main Board, in that order. Is the trouble phenomenon still occurring?
