Error code
  • 14 PW Sensor Unreached Paper Jam (MP)
Occurrence condition
  • When paper is fed from the MP Tray, the PW Sensor does not detect the paper after the specified time has elapsed since the MP Tray Pickup Clutch is activated.
Assumed cause
  • Foreign objects or pieces of paper in the paper transport path
  • C1 Flap malfunction (does not drop to the left side of the product)
  • The MP Tray paper feed rollers (MP Pickup Roller/MP Retard Roller) are worn out, deformed, have fallen off, or have a dirty surface
  • Malfunction of the retard torque limiter of the MP Retard Roller Unit.
  • The Feed Roller is worn out, deformed, has fallen off, or has a dirty surface
  • PW Sensor has a dirty surface, has fallen off, or is faulty
  • MP Tray and/or MP Tray Pickup Clutch has fallen off or is faulty.
  • The Paper Feed Clutch has fallen off or is faulty.
  • All Drive Motor failure
  • MCU board failure

Check paper transport path

Is there any foreign matter, paper chips, etc. in the paper transport path?

 Remove foreign matter, paper fragments, etc.

Check the paper transport roller sensor for dirt and installation

Are the roller and sensor specified in the part to be checked installed properly? Make sure no dirt remains on the surfaces.

 Go to step 3 Clean and reinstall the paper feed rollers.

Check the deformation and wear of the paper transport roller

Are the rollers listed on the suspected part deformed or worn?

 Replacement of applicable paper transport roller Go to step 4

Check the Torque Limiter

Can you rotate the Retard Roller by hand?

 Go to step 5 Replace the retard torque limiter.

Check PW sensor operation

Check the operation of the PW Sensor with the diagnostic function

Judgment: Does the signal change between when the paper is placed and when it is not? (Check when door is closed. If there is a reflection there is no paper, if there is no reflection there is paper.)

Check the PW Sensor for installation, dirt, and connector connection

Is there any problem with the installation of the PW Sensor Is there dirt on the sensor? Is the connector not fully inserted?

 Clean the sensor surface, or fully insert the connector. Replace the Sensor

Check C1 Flap operation

Does the C1 Flap drop toward the rear when the D4 Lever is pressed?

 Go to step 8 Reinstall C1 Pickup Unit

Check the clutch installation

Are the MP Tray Pickup Clutch and Feed Clutch installed properly?

 Go to step 9

Reinstall it properly.

Check MP Tray Pickup Clutch

Checking the operation of the MP Tray Pickup Clutch with the diagnostic function

Does it make an operating sound (clutch connection sound)?

 Go to step 10

Check the Feed Clutch

Check the clutch operation using the failure diagnostic function.

Does it make an operating sound (clutch connection sound)?

Check the malfunctioning clutch for connection

Are any of the connectors connecting the clutch not fully inserted?

 Connect securely

Replace the parts one by one.

Check the All Drive Motor operation

Check the operation of the corresponding drive motor using the diagnostic function.

Is there any abnormal noise?

 Replace the gear train and All Drive Motor Replace the MCU board
