VBS Over-voltage Error

  • 031008
Assumed cause
  • When COM-VBS is short-circuited due to failure of IC in the head
  • In case of short circuit due to Head Drive Board failure
  • Incorrect insertion of FFC in Head Drive Board / Head Unit (open / short)

Check the inside of the main unit (mechanical frame) for condensation.

  • Turn off the power and leave it until it dries (12 hours).*

Does the error go away?

Identify either the Head Unit failure or the Head Drive Board failure.

Is failure distinction code 28 (Head Drive Board failure)?

Replace the Head Drive Board

  • Does the error go away?

Checking the connection of the FFC connecting the Head Unit to the Head Drive Board

  • Check if there is no problem inserting FFC
  • Check the route visually for FFC disconnection and check for scratches
  • Check is there ink adhesion at contacts

Replace the Head Unit

  • Does the error go away?
 End

Replace the parts/components to be checked one by one.

* : If the head is condensing, it is temporary. If the power is left on, the head unit will failure.
