  • 18 PW Sensor Unreached Paper Jam (C2)
Occurrence condition
  • The PW Sensor does not turn on after the specified time has elapsed since the target Pickup Clutch is activated
Assumed cause
  • Foreign objects or pieces of paper in the paper transport path
  • The paper feed rollers are worn out, deformed, have fallen off, or have a dirty surface
  • Malfunction of the retard torque limiter of the Pickup Unit.
  • PW Sensor has a dirty surface, has fallen off, or is faulty
  • The cassette pickup clutch has fallen off, or is faulty
  • The Feed Clutch and C2 Pickup Roller Clutch have fallen off or are faulty
  • All Drive Motor, C2 Drive Motor failure
  • MCU board failure

Is there any foreign matter, paper chips, etc. in the paper transport path?

 Remove foreign matter, paper fragments, etc.

Check the paper transport roller sensor for dirt and installation

Are the roller and sensor specified in the part to be checked installed properly? Make sure no dirt remains on the surfaces.

 Go to step 3 Clean and reinstall the paper feed rollers.

Check the deformation and wear of the paper transport roller

Are the rollers listed on the suspected part deformed or worn?

 Replacement of applicable paper transport roller Go to step 4

Check the Torque Limiter

Can you rotate the Retard Roller by hand?

 Go to step 5 Replace the retard torque limiter.

Check the Cassette Feed Sensor for paper feed for installation, dirt, and connection

Is the sensor of the target cassette installed improperly? Is there dirt on the sensor? Is the connector not fully inserted?

Are the connectors for the cassette pickup unit not fully inserted?

 Clean the sensor surface, reinstall the sensor, or fully insert the connector. Replace the Sensor

Check PW sensor operation

Check the operation of the PW Sensor with the diagnostic function

Judgment: Does the signal change between when the paper is placed and when it is not?

 Go to step 9 Go to step 8

Check the PW Sensor for installation, dirt, and connector connection

Is the PW Registration Sensor installed improperly? Is there dirt on the sensor? Is the connector not fully inserted?

 Clean the sensor surface, reinstall the sensor, or fully insert the connector. Replace the Sensor

Check the clutch installation

Are the Cassette Paper Feed Clutch and Feed Clutch for paper feed installed properly?

 Go to step 10

Reinstall it properly.

Check each Cassette Paper Feed Clutch

Check the clutch operation using the failure diagnostic function.

Does it make an operating sound (clutch connection sound)?

 Go to step 11

Check the clutch operation using the failure diagnostic function.

Does it make an operating sound (clutch connection sound)?

Check the malfunctioning clutch for connection

Are any of the connectors connecting the clutch not fully inserted?

 Connect securely

Replace the parts one by one.

Check the All Drive Motor operation

Check the operation of the corresponding All Drive Motor and C2 Drive Motor with the diagnostic function.

Judgment: Is there any abnormal noise?

 Replace the gear train, All Drive Motor, and C2 Drive Motor Replace the MCU board
