Occurrence condition
  • Ink leak detected in Ink Leak Sensor 1, 5 (Ink System Unit maintenance box side)
Assumed cause
  • Ink leak from cap during CL
  • Ink leak from maintenance box during CL
  • Ink overflow from Wiper Waste Ink Pad (Ink Leak Sensor 5 in this case), etc.
  • Ink Leak Sensor incorrectly detected condensation as an ink leak.

Remove the Ink System Unit, then look inside and check for ink leaks

Clean the leaked ink and replace the unit with a new one

    • Clean the gutter (clean the entire interior of the main unit around the Cap Motion)
    • Replace the Ink System Unit with a new one
    • Replace the Cap Motion Unit with a new one
    • Replace the Cap Unit with a new one

Remove the left side exterior cover, check if the harness and FFC cable are connected to the Ink System Unit properly, then check if there is any water

    • Wipe away any water
