# Ink System Assy (WF-C579R Series)

1. Remove the four screws, then remove the Rear Cover (Back) (A).

   Assembly / 組み立て

   Attach the two dowels of the Rear Cover (Back) (A) to the positioning holes on the Housing Left (B) and Housing Right (C).

2. Remove the two screws, then remove the Rear Top Cover (A).

3. Open the ADF/SCN Unit (A).
   
4. Remove the three screws that secure the Housing Left (A).

5. Lift the Housing Left (A) to release the two hooks on the front side of the Housing Left.
   
6. Disengage two hooks on the rear side of the Housing Left (A), and remove the Housing Left (A).

   
   

   Assembly / 組み立て

   Insert the eight tabs on the Housing Left (A) to the positioning holes of the Housing Upper (B) and the RIPS Unit (C).

7. Disengage the hook, and remove the Maintenance Box Cover (A).
   
8. Open the ADF/SCN Unit (A).
   
9. Remove the four screws that secure the Housing Right (A).

10. Lift the Housing Right to release the two hooks on the front side of the Housing Right, then remove the Housing Right.

    
    

    Assembly / 組み立て

    Insert the four tabs of the Housing Right (A) to the positioning holes on the Ink Supply Unit.

11. Remove the six screws, then remove the Housing Upper (A).

12. Disconnect the SCN PS cable (CN799) and the SCN USB cable (CN100) from the Main Board.

    When disconnecting the SCN PS cable from the connector (CN799) (A), make sure to unlock the connector lock (B) beforehand.

13. Remove the terminal of grounding cable (A) from the frame of the Main Board.

    
    

    Assembly / 組み立て

    Route the SCN USB cable (A) through the three hooks and the clamp (B) as shown above. Make sure to secure the SCN PS cable (A) and the grounding cable (B) with the Polyester film (C).

14. Open the ADF/SCN Unit (A).

    
    

15. Remove the two screws and remove the ADF/SCN Unit (A) in the direction of the arrow.

    Assembly / 組み立て

    Before screwing the ADF/SCN Unit, make sure the hinges are properly attached in place. If the ADF/SCN Unit is opened when the hinges are NOT secured, the unit may be damaged.

16. Remove the two screw that secure the Ink Supply Tube (A).

17. Remove the two Bind Screw2.5 x 25 (w/washer).

    

18. Remove the Ink Tube (B) from the Tube Clamp (A).

    
    

    Assembly / 組み立て

    At the marking point on the Ink Supply Tube (A), attach the Ink Supply Tube (A) to the Tube Clamp (B). If the marking is not visible, refer to the figure below. Length of (A): 87.5 ± 1 mm

19. Remove the Tube Holder (A) while pressing the two hooks outward.
    
20. Remove the screw that secure the Ink Supply Tube (A).

21. Peel off the two-sided tape fixing the film (A).

    
    

    Caution / 注意

    In the following steps, ink may spill from the Ink Supply Tube. Prepare waste cloths or similar in advance.

22. While avoiding Film (A) remove the Ink Feed Tube (B) in the direction of the arrow.

    
    

    Caution / 注意

    Never lift the part indicated by the red frame in the figure below, as ink may leak out.

    When removing the Ink Supply Tube, be careful of the following points. Always hold the Ink Supply Tube only by the parts on its end (A), which are indicated in the blue frames. Pull the end (A) of the Ink Supply Tube straight up.

    Assembly / 組み立て

    When disassembling/assembling, misalignment between tube of the Ink Supply Tube (A) and the joint part of the tube (B) affects ink supply. Check that the Ink Supply Tube (A) and the joint section (B) are securely connected as in the figure below.

23. Devise an ink leak strategy using waste cloths, etc., as displayed in the figure below, and avoid the ink supply tube (A).

    
    

24. Remove the screws that secure the Wasted Ink Duct Holder (A).

25. Disengage the hook, and slide the Wasted Ink Duct Holder (A) to rear.
    
26. Slide the tube clamp (A), and remove the Wasted Ink Tube (C) from the Wasted Ink Duct Holder (B).

    Before removing the Inksystem Assy, release the carriage lock, and then move the CR Unit to center of the printer.

    Caution / 注意

    In the this step, waste ink may spill from the Wasted Ink Tube. Prepare waste cloths or similar in advance.

27. Remove the three screws and remove the Upper Cap Frame (A).

    Assembly / 組み立て

    Secure the grounding cables (A) together with the screws.

28. Disconnect the cable (B) from the relay connector (A).
    
29. Disengage hook (A), then remove the Upper Cap FFC Cover (B).

    
    

    Assembly / 組み立て

    Route the FFC (C) through the slit (B) on the Upper Cap FFC Cover (A).

30. Disconnect the FFC (B) from the Pump Encoder Sensor (A).
    
31. Release the FFC (B) from the three tabs on the Inksystem Assy (A).

    
    

32. Remove the four screws, and remove the Inksystem Assy (A).

    Assembly / 組み立て

    Route the Wasted Ink Tube (A) through the guide (C) on the Inksystem Assy (B). Route the pump motor cable (A) through the slit (C) on the Inksystem Assy (B).
