PE Lever Assy (WF-C529R Series)

  1. Remove the Rear Unit (A).
  2. Remove the two screws that secure the ASF Cover Assy (A).

  3. Remove the four screws that secure the Rear Back Cover (A).

    • : C.B.P-TITE-SCREW-3x10-F.ZN-3C
  4. Remove the Rear Back Cover (A) downward.

    Attach the two dowels of the Rear Back Cover (A) to the positioning holes on the Housing Left (B) and the Housing Right (C).
  5. Remove the ASF Cover Assy (A) in the direction of the arrow.

    Insert the four tabs of the ASF Cover Assy (A) to the positioning holes of the Front Cover Retainer Plate.
  6. Remove the two screws securing the Front Cover Retainer Plate (A).

  7. Open the Printer Cover (A) and remove the four screws, and then remove the Front Cover Retainer Plate (B).

  8. Remove the Front Cover (A) upward.
  9. Disengage the hook, and remove the Maintenance Box Cover (A).
  10. Remove the three screws that secure the Housing Right (A).

  11. Remove the two screws that secure the Housing Right (A).

  12. Lift the Housing Right (A) to release the two hooks on the front side of the Housing Right (A), then remove the Housing Right (A).


    Assembly / 組み立て

    Insert the four tabs of the Housing Right (A) to the positioning holes on the Ink Supply Unit (B).
  13. Remove the three screws that secure the Housing Left (A).

  14. Remove the two screws that secure the Housing Left (A).

  15. Lift the Housing Left (A) to release the two hooks each on the front side and rear side of the Housing Left (A), and then remove the Housing Left (A).

    Insert the four tabs on the Housing Left (A) to the positioning holes of the Ink Supply Unit (B).
  16. Remove the six screws, then remove the Housing Upper (A).

  17. Release the all cable from the Cable Guide (A).
  18. Remove the two screws, and remove the Cable Guide (A).

    • Route the PS cable (A) through the two guides and hook on the Cable Guide.
    • Route the Rear ASF Solenoid cable (A) through the six hooks on the Cable Guide.
    • Route the Rear Unit Detection Sensor cable and Rear ASF Paper Detection Sensor cable (A) through the three hooks and the three hooks on the Cable Guide.
    • Route the ASF motor cable (A) through the guide on the Cable Guide.
  19. Disconnect the cables (B) from the connectors (CN51, CN56) on the Relay Board (A).


  20. Release the solenoid cable (B) and Rear ASF Paper Detection Sensor cable (C) from the Cable Guide (A).

    • Route the solenoid cable (A) through the five hooks on the Cable Guide (B).
    • Route the Rear ASF Paper Detection Sensor cable (A) through the three hooks on the Cable Guide (B).

  21. Remove the four screws, and remove the Rear ASF Assy (A).

  22. Remove the two screws, then remove the PS Ground Plate (A).

  23. Remove the screw securing the AC Inlet (A).
    • : C.B.P-TITE-SCREW-3x10-F.ZN-3C
  24. Release the FFC (B) from three hooks on the Rear ASF Upper Guide Assy (A).
  25. Remove the four screws, then remove the Rear ASF Upper Guide Assy (A).

  26. Peel off the CRCM FFC (A).
  27. Peel off the CRCR FFC Sheet (A).


    Check Point / チェックポイント

    When disconnecting the Panel FFC (CN42) (A), make sure to unlock the connector lock (B) beforehand.

  28. Disconnect the FFC (A) and cables (B) from the connectors (CN2, CN9, CN58, CN74, CN80, CN44, CN110, CN55, CN609) on the Main Board Assy.

  29. Disconnect the FFC (A) and cables (B) from the connectors (CN67, CN66, CN68, CN42, CN8) on the Main Board.
  30. Disconnect the cable (A) from the connector (CN31) on the Main Board.
  31. Disconnect the FFC (A) and cables (B) from the connectors (CN50, CN52, CN72, CN73, CN75, CN77) on the Main Board.
  32. Peel off the Fax FFC (A) from the Shield Plate, and Pull the Fax FFC out from the ferrite core (B).(WF-C579R only)
  33. Release the PE sensor cable (A) from the clamp.
  34. Peel off the Relay FFC (A) from the Shield Plate.
  35. Release the CR motor cable (B) from two clamps (A).
  36. Remove the following screws that secure the Main Board Assy.

    • : C.B.S-TITE-SCREW-3x6-F.ZN-3C
    Caution / 注意

    In the next step, be careful not to damage the PF Scale (A).
  37. Disengage hook of the Main Board Assy from the hole of the CR Guide Frame, then remove the Main Board Assy upward.


    Assembly / 組み立て

    Secure the PF Encoder FFC (A) with double-sided tape (B) as shown below.
  38. Remove the two screws, and then remove the Head Upper Cover (A).

    Attach the two tabs on the Head Upper Cover to the positioning holes of the CR Unit.
  39. Remove the two screws, and remove the Ink Tube Joint Cover (A).

  40. Remove the film (A) from the hook on the Ink Tube Joint Cover.

    Set the film (A) under the rib of the Ink Tube Joint Cover.
  41. Remove the screw, then remove the Magnetic Valve Assy (A).

    Assembly / 組み立て

    Make sure the Magnetic Valve Assy is secured with the screw.
  42. Remove the two screws, and remove the Ink Supply Tube Assy (A) from the Printhaed.

    Caution / 注意

    As ink may adhere in this and following steps, prepare a waste cloth or the like in advance.
    Assembly / 組み立て
    • When attaching the Plate (A), make sure to align the dowels on the Ink Supply Tube Assy (B) with the positioning holes on the Plate (A).
    • The screws that secure the Plate (C.B.EP-TITE SCREW,2.6X17(B=14),F/ZN-3C) are supplied as ASP.
  43. Remove the three Head Screws (A).


    Assembly / 組み立て

    Tighten the screws in order given above.
  44. Remove the double-sided tape from the two locations in the Head FFC Assy (A), and remove the Printhead (B).


    Caution / 注意

    Do not touch the nozzle surface of the Printhead.
  45. Disconnect the Head FFC Assy (B) from the four connectors of the Printhead (A).


    Assembly / 組み立て
    • The correspondence between the four printhead connectors and the four Head FFC Assy FFCs is as below.
      • Head FFC Assy
      • Printhead
    • Install the Printhead in accordance with the following procedure.
    1. Ensure the Head FFC Assy (A) is as below.
    2. Connect FFC (1) and FFC (2) to the two connectors on the right side of the Printhead (A).
    3. Connect FFC (3) and FFC (4) to the two connectors on the left side of the Printhead (A).
    4. Install the Printhead (A) from the right side of the Printhead (A).
    5. Using double-sided tape, affix the two locations in the Head FFC Assy (A) to the Printhead (B).

    • Use a cleaning stick to clean the location highlighted in red on the below figure of the Ink tube joint part (A) of the Ink Supply Tube.
    Caution / 注意

    • If ink is remaining on the ink tube joint part (A), the Ink Leak Check cannot be performed correctly. Therefore make sure to clean the ink thoroughly.

    • Take care regarding the following points with the Seal Joint Head (A).
      • Replace the Seal Joint Head (A) with the new one because it cannot be reused.
      • Check the Seal Joint Head (A) is not double-installed.
      • Check the Seal Joint Head (A) is inserted all the way.
      • Check that foreign object does not adhere on the Seal Joint Head (A).
    Assembly / 組み立て

    • In this product, Ink Leak Check is necessary to prevent the ink leakage due to assembly mistake.

    • Therefore, make sure to install the Ink Leak Check Jig when installing the Ink Tube to Printhead.

      • Install the Ink Leak Check Jigs in accordance with the following procedure.

      1. Before using the Ink Leak Check Jig (A), push the Ink Leak Check Jigs along the folds until the fold angle become 90 degrees.

      2. Set the Ink Leak Measurement Jig (A) to the Printhead (B).

      3. Set the Ink Supply Tube (A) to the Printhead (B).
    Caution / 注意
    • The smoked face of Ink Leak Measurement Jig (A) is put toward the upside.
    • When installing the Ink Supply Tube Assy (A), make sure to tighten the screws using a torque driver with the specified torque.

      • Screw tightening torque: 0.33 +/- 0.02 N⋅m
    Assembly / 組み立て

    After ink charging, follow the instructions on the Ink Leak Check to remove the LEAK TESTER SHEET FRONT, then perform Leak Check Judgement.
  46. Remove the screw and remove the Frame Plate (A).

  47. Release the Head FFC Assy (A) from the seven tabs on the Frame Base.

    Set the Ferrite Core (B) of the Head FFC Assy (A) in the point shown below.
  48. Slide the CR Driven Pulley Assy (A) in the direction of the arrow to remove the CR Timing Belt (B) from the CR Driven Pulley Assy.


  49. Remove the Extension Spring (A).
  50. Peel off the CSIC FFC (A) from the frame.
  51. Remove the three screws, then remove the Main Frame Assy (A).

    Assembly / 組み立て
    • Fix CSIC FFC (A) on the frame at the location shown in the figure below by using double-sided tape at two locations.
    • Route the CR Motor Cable (A) with reference to the figure below.
  52. Remove the screw, and remove the PE Lever Assy (B) from the Main Frame (A).

    Assembly / 組み立て

    Confirm there are no gaps between the Sensor Holder (A) and the Main Frame (B).
