Print Position Offset in CR Operation Direction

Symptom
  • The image is offset in the main scanning CR operation direction (left and right margins are not equal).
  • The left or right edge of the image is cut off.

    • A: Main scanning line (CR operation) direction
    • B: Sub scanning line (feed) direction
Suspected cause
  • Paper load position offset
  • The paper settings of main unit or printer driver are not appropriate.
  • Print start position adjustment value deviation
  • PW sensor is dirty or has deteriorated.
  • PW Sensor adjustment value incorrect
  • CR Scale dirty, damaged, or defective
  • Main Board Assy failure
Troubleshooting

Check the paper cassette

Check that the paper size and guide position are appropriate.

Are the paper size and guide position appropriate?

Go to step 2

Correct the guide position.
If the symptom continues to occur after performing the above, go to step 2.

Check the settings

Check the settings of the main unit/printer driver listed below.

  • Main unit settings: Check that the paper type/size settings and actual loaded paper are appropriate.
  • Driver: Check that a value other than 0 is not input for the offset in the extended settings.

Are the printer/driver settings appropriate?

 Go to step 3

Change the settings.

If nozzle missing is not improved after performing the above, go to step 3.

Check the CR Scale

Execute the following adjustment from the service support mode.

Nozzle condition is excellent?

 Go to step 4

If nozzle missing is not improved after performing the above, go to step 4.

Execute adjustment again

Execute the following adjustments from the service support mode.

  • B49 PW Sensor Correction
  • B50 Print Start Pos. (ASF)
  • B51 Print Start Pos. (Rear ASF)

(B49 PW SENSOR CORRECT/B50 PRINT START POS. (ASF)/B51 PRINT START POS. (REAR ASF))

Does the symptom recur?

Replace the Main board Assy.
(Main Board Assy (WF-C579R Series)/Main Board Assy (WF-C529R Series))

If the symptom continues to occur after replacing the Main Board Assy, contact the Epson Service Support department.
