Checking Line Measurement Mode each step.

Check Point / チェックポイント
  • After starting Line Measurement Mode, check the following steps.

  1. No-line Voltage Check
    (Voltage check when the line is not connected)

  2. Line Voltage (Onhook)
    (Voltage check during on-hook when the line is connected)

  3. Line Voltage (Offhook)
    (Voltage check during off-hook when the line is connected)

  4. Line Status DT/BT
    (Dial tone/busy tone status check)

  5. Line Status IR
    (Call signal status check)

  6. EXT Voltage (Offhook)
    (Voltage check during off-hook when an external telephone is connected)

  • If skip a check item, can do so by pressing the "* button" on each step screen.

  • The confirmation results in Line Measurement Mode can be checked in a list after all items are completed.


    Also, data can be saved by using an external memory (USB memory).

  • If the following settings are selected, the Line Measurement Mode cannot be properly checked.


    When checking, temporarily change the following settings to other values.
    • Number of calls = “0”
    • Number display compatible = “On”
  1. No-line Voltage Check (line voltage check when line is not connected)

  1. After starting "Line Measurement Mode", the following screen will be displayed.

  2. Disconnect the telephone line from the Line port and press the "# button".

  3. The line voltage confirmation results are displayed as shown below. (The values shown on the screen are for reference.)

  4. Press the [# button] to proceed to the next step.

  1. Line Voltage (Onhook) 　


    (Line voltage check during on-hook when the line is connected)

  1. Below, the "Line Voltage (Onhook)" screen will be displayed.

  2. Connect the telephone line to the Line port and press the "# button".

  3. The line voltage confirmation results are displayed as shown below. (The values shown on the screen are for reference.)



  4. Press the # button to proceed to the next step.

    Press the "# button" 2 to 3 seconds after the line voltage fluctuations have stabilized, or if fluctuations continue, when you know the approximate fluctuation.
  1. Line Voltage (Offhook)


    (Line voltage check during off-hook when the line is connected)

  1. Below, the "Line Voltage (Onhook)" screen will be displayed.

  2. Make sure the phone line is connected and press the # button.

  3. The line voltage confirmation results are displayed as shown below. (The values shown on the screen are for reference.)

  4. Press the # button to proceed to the next step.

    Press the "# button" 2 to 3 seconds after the line voltage fluctuations have stabilized, or if fluctuations continue, when you know the approximate fluctuation.

  1. Line Status (DT/BT) (Dial tone/busy tone status check)

    Check Point / チェックポイント

    In this step, the dial tone status and busy tone status are checked and recorded.
    Recording of status confirmation results is performed at the timing when the "# button" is pressed.
    Please note the dial tone changes to a busy tone after a certain period of time, so if you do not record during the dial tone, will not be able to record the confirmation results correctly.

  1. [Line Status (DT/BT)] screen will be displayed below.

  2. Press the [# button] to check the DT (dial tone) status.

  3. When the dial tone status confirmation result is displayed as shown in the screen below, press the [# button]. (The values shown on the screen are for reference.)

    Check Point / チェックポイント
    • The [#] button must be pressed when the fluctuation of the numeric value stabilizes and before the shift to the busy tone. (While the shift from the dial tone to the busy tone depends on the telephone switchboard, it normally switches in around 20 to 30 seconds.)
    • When the dial tone is continuous, "On: Continuous" is displayed.
    • The dial tone will display "Lv:  Too high" if the signal level is too high.

    If the PBX has an intermittent dial tone, the display will look like the one below.

  1. Next, the following screen will be displayed.
    Switch to busy tone and confirm that the numbers on the screen have changed. (The values shown on the screen are for reference.)

    If the signal level is too high in the busy tone, "Lv:  Too high" will be displayed.

  2. Press the [# button] to proceed to the next step.

  1. Line Status (IR) (Call signal status check)

  1. The [Line Status (IR)] screen will be displayed below.

  2. Press the [# button] to make a call to the phone number on the machine's fax.

  3. Check the confirmation result is displayed as shown on the screen below. (The values shown on the screen are for reference.)

  4. Press the [# button] to end the call and proceed to the next step.

  1. EXT Voltage (Offhook) 　


    (Voltage check during off-hook when an external telephone is connected)

  1. [EXT Voltage (Offhook)] screen will be displayed below.

  2. Connect with phone to the product's EXT port, pick up the handset, and press the [# button].

  3. Next, the check results are displayed as shown below. (The values shown on the screen are for reference.)

  4. Press the [# button] and hang up the handset.

    Press the "# button" 2 to 3 seconds after the line voltage fluctuations have stabilized, or if fluctuations continue, when you know the approximate fluctuation.
  1. Confirmation result list


    After checking all steps, the following list of check results will be displayed.

    For skipped items, "Skipped" is displayed.

  1. The confirmation result screen (first screen) is displayed.
    Press the [* button] to proceed to the next screen.

  2. The confirmation result screen (second screen) is displayed.
    Press the [# button] to proceed to the next step, and press the [* button] to return to the confirmation result screen (first screen).

  1. Saving the confirmation results

    Check Point / チェックポイント
    • Data is saved in the USB memory as shown below.

      • Data save format: Text format (.txt)
      • File name: LM_RESULT yyymmddhhmmss.TXT (The date and time of saving is entered after LM_RESULT)

    • If do not have a USB memory, record the confirmation results by hand.
    • If you press the # button without connecting a USB memory, “Fail” is displayed. (After “Fail” is displayed, you can connect a USB memory and retry.)

  1. Connect the USB memory and press the [# button] on the screen below.

  2. The following screen will be displayed and the saving of the confirmation results to the USB memory will be completed.

  3. Press the [# button] to proceed to the end screen.
  4. At the end screen, press the power button to exit [FAX Line Measurement].
