Lines not smooth and ruled-line deviation

Symptom
  • Printed lines are not smooth.
  • Lines printed in double in parts
  • Color deviation of part of mixed colors

Suspected cause
  • Paper
  • Paper settings of main unit or printer driver settings are inappropriate.
  • Nozzles missing or deflection
  • CR Scale reading failure
  • Foreign matter on CR scanning lines
  • Overload when CR operation
  • Adjustment value failure
  • PG value abnormal
Troubleshooting

Check the settings

Check the settings of the main unit/printer driver listed below.

  • Paper settings: Check that the paper type/size settings and actual loaded paper are appropriate.
  • Quality option: Standard or High?

Are the printer/driver settings appropriate?

Go to step 2

  • If the paper setting is wrong
    • Recommend to change the paper setting according to the paper being used.
  • If the print quality setting is wrong
    • Select Standard or High.

If the error still occurs after performing the above, go to step 2.

Check the nozzle check pattern

Print nozzle check patterns and check whether there are nozzles missing or deflection.

Nozzle condition is OK?

Go to step 3

Obtain the information as follows from the service status sheet and execute head cleaning according to the nozzle missing state check matrix table.

If nozzle missing is not improved, refer to Nozzles missing.

If the symptom continues to occur after performing the above, go to step 3.

Check the CR Scale.

Execute the following adjustment from the service support mode.

Nozzle condition is excellent?

Go to step 4

If nozzle missing is not improved after performing the above, go to step 4.

Check the CR Unit

Check the following CR operation.

Caution / 注意

Execute "60143 CR Unlock & Power OFF" from the Service Support mode in advance to release the CR lock before checking the Inksystem Assy.

  • Move the CR left and right while holding the belt and check that it moves smoothly.
  • Is there any foreign object on the CR guide frame or CR scanning lines?
  • Check that the CR belt is not damaged or worn out.

Is the result OK?

Go to step 5

  • When there is load to the CR Unit operation.
    • Clean the CR guide frame and apply grease. (Refer to Lubrication 4.)
  • When there are foreign matter on the CR guide frame or the CR scanning lines.
    • Remove the foreign object.
  • When the CR timing belt is damaged

If the symptom continues to occur after performing the above, go to step 5.

Check the PG

Is the PG within the specified value range (1.60 ±0.05 mm)?

Is the PG within the standard value?

Go to step 6

Perform " the Check the PG".

If the symptom continues to occur after performing the above, go to step 6.

Execute adjustment again

Execute the following adjustments from the service support mode.
