# Print Head After Parts Replacement

#Procedure

1. Turn the power ON.
2. Press [Start].
   
3. Press [Start].
   
4. Press [OK].
   
5. Print nozzle check patterns and check whether there are nozzles missing.
   

   1. Press each setting item button to make print settings.

   2. Load paper in the selected feed tray and press [Start].
      
   3. Confirm the check pattern, and confirm that all nozzles with no nozzles missing are correctly ejecting.
      When all nozzles are correctly ejecting, press [OK] to complete the nozzle check. If a nozzle is missing, press [Cleaning] to execute head cleaning.
      
6. Press [Start].
   
7. Execute head angular adjustment (H/W).
   
   1. If the following screen is displayed, press [Start].
      

   2. Press each setting item button to confirm print settings.

   3. Set matte paper (A4) to the rear ASF and press [Start]. Adjustment patterns are printed on 1 sheet.

   4. Check the adjustment pattern and determine the adjustment value based on the judgment procedure.

      Adjustment pattern Printed with a rough adjustment pattern: adjustment interval values of five staggered intervals (-10, -5, 0, +5, +10). Printed with a detailed adjustment pattern: adjustment interval values of three staggered intervals (-5, -3, 0, +3, +5). Adjustment value judgment method The interval of the pattern lines will be adjusted so that it is most equal when the adjustment value is “0.”

   5. After the adjustment pattern is printed, the following confirmation screen will be displayed. When adjustment is necessary, press [Yes]. After operation, the CR unit moves to the center part of the printer.
      

      Caution / 注意

      When the tape for the ADF/SCN open sensor is disconnected during adjustment, since there is a risk when the CR Unit moves to the home position, be sure that it is securely fixed.

   6. Remove the screws (x2) that fix the Head Upper Cover and remove the Head Upper Cover.
   7. Turn the head screws (x3) that fix the Print Head counterclockwise by 90º to loosen them.

   8. Based on the adjustment value confirmed in step 4, turn the head angular adjustment dial (A) of the CR Unit.

      When the head angular adjustment dial of the CR Unit has been turned before, rotate only one gradation.

   9. Tighten the head screws (x3) .
   10. Press [OK] on the following screen.
       
   11. Press [Start] on the following screen.

   12. Press each setting item button to confirm print settings.

   13. Set matte paper (A4) to the rear ASF and press [Start]. The adjustment patterns are printed.

   14. Repeat Step 4 through Step 13 until the lines of adjustment pattern “0” are most equal.

       Caution / 注意

       After carrying out a head angular adjustment, make sure to confirm the operation of the follow-up mechanism of the cap of the ink system Assy by the following procedure. If the cap does not return to its original position, capping cannot be performed accurately and printing failure may occur. For this reason, replace the ink system Assy. Push the cap (A) to the rear of the printer as shown in the diagram below, and confirm it returns to its original position. Push the cap (A) over as shown in the diagram below, and confirm that it returns to its original position.

8. Press [Start].
   
9. Execute head angular adjustment (S/W).
   
   1. If the following screen is displayed, press [Pattern print].
      

   2. Press each setting item button to make print settings.

   3. Press [OK] on the following screen.

   5. Check the adjustment pattern and determine the adjustment values for each of #1 and #2 based on the judgment method.

      Adjustment value judgment method From among the printed patterns, select the pattern where the above and below lines are the straightest.

   6. Press on [#1] or [#2] and enter the adjustment value.
      

   7. Press [OK] on the upper right to complete the adjustment. The adjusted values are saved in the printer.
      

      Note / 補足

      If there is no pattern satisfying the judgment method among the adjustment patterns, there is a pattern satisfying the judgment method outside the scope of pattern printing. Therefore, select the best pattern and enter the adjustment value. Following this, again print the adjustment pattern and determine the adjustment value.

10. Press [Start].
    
11. Execute PTS Acc./ Dec. Adj. (Simple).
    
    1. If the following screen is displayed, press [Pattern print].
       

    2. Press each setting item button to make print settings.

    7. Press [OK] on the upper right to complete the adjustment. The adjusted values are saved in the printer.

       If there is no pattern satisfying the judgment method among the adjustment patterns, there is a pattern satisfying the judgment method outside the scope of pattern printing. Therefore, select the best pattern and enter the adjustment value. Following this, again print the adjustment pattern and determine the adjustment value.

12. Press [Start].
    
13. Execute the Bi-D adjustment (Simple).
    
    1. If the following screen is displayed, press [Pattern print].
       

    2. Press each setting item button to make print settings.

    6. Press [#1] and enter the adjustment value.
       

    7. Press [OK] on the upper right to complete the adjustment. The adjusted values are saved in the printer.
