Cassette Paper Detection Sensor (EM-C800 Series)

  1. Remove the four screws, then remove the Rear Cover (Back) (A).

    Attach the two dowels of the Rear Cover (Back) (A) to the positioning holes on the Housing Left (B) and Housing Right (C).
  2. Remove the two screws, then remove the Rear Top Cover (A).

  3. Open the ADF/SCN Unit and remove the three screws that secure the Housing Left (A).

  4. Lift the Housing Left (A) to release the two hooks on the front side of the Housing Left.
  5. Disengage two hooks on the rear side of the Housing Left (A), and remove the Housing Left (A).

    Insert the eight tabs on the Housing Left (A) to the positioning holes of the Housing Upper (B) and the RIPS Unit (C).
  6. Disengage the hook, and remove the Maintenance Box Cover (A).
  7. Open the ADF/SCN Unit and remove the four screws that secure the Housing Right (A).

  8. Lift the Housing Right to release the two hooks on the front side of the Housing Right, then remove the Housing Right.

    Insert the four tabs of the Housing Right (A) to the positioning holes on the Ink Supply Unit.
  9. Remove the six screws, then remove the Housing Upper (A).

  10. Remove the two pieces of acetate tape (A), and disconnect the cable (C) from CN100 connector on the Main Board (B).


  11. Release the cable (B) from the two guides and the clamp (A).


  12. Release the cable (B) from the protective sheet (A) by opening the sheet in the direction of the arrow.

    Insert the two tabs of the protective sheet (A) into the two slits respectively.
  13. Disconnect the ground wire (A), and while pushing the connector’s tab upward, disconnect the cable (C) from CN799 connector on the Main Board (B).


  14. Open the ADF/SCN Unit (A).
    Caution / 注意
    • If you remove or attach the ADF/SCN Unit while it is closed, the hinge may be damaged.
  15. Remove the two screws and remove the ADF/SCN Unit (A) in the direction of the arrow.

    Assembly / 組み立て
    • Before screwing the ADF/SCN Unit, make sure the hinges are properly attached in place.

    • If the ADF/SCN Unit is opened when the hinges are NOT secured, the unit may be damaged.

  16. Remove the two screw that secure the Ink Supply Tube (A).

  17. Remove the two Bind Screw2.5 x 25 (w/washer).

  18. Remove the Ink Tube (B) from the Tube Clamp (A).


    Assembly / 組み立て
    • At the marking point on the Ink Supply Tube (A), attach the Ink Supply Tube (A) to the Tube Clamp (B).
    • If the marking is not visible, refer to the figure below.

      • Length of (A): 87.5 ± 1 mm
  19. Remove the Tube Holder (A) while pressing the two hooks outward.
  20. Remove the screw that secure the Ink Supply Tube (A).

  21. Peel off the two-sided tape fixing the film (A).


    Caution / 注意

    In the following steps, ink may spill from the Ink Supply Tube. Prepare waste cloths or similar in advance.
  22. While avoiding Film (A) remove the Ink Feed Tube (B) in the direction of the arrow.


    Caution / 注意

    Never lift the part indicated by the red frame in the figure below, as ink may leak out.

    When removing the Ink Supply Tube, be careful of the following points.

    • Always hold the Ink Supply Tube only by the parts on its end (A), which are indicated in the blue frames.
    • Pull the end (A) of the Ink Supply Tube straight up.

    When disassembling/assembling, misalignment between tube of the Ink Supply Tube (A) and the joint part of the tube (B) affects ink supply.

    Check that the Ink Supply Tube (A) and the joint section (B) are securely connected as in the figure below.
  23. Devise an ink leak strategy using waste cloths, etc., as displayed in the figure below, and avoid the ink supply tube (A).


  24. Remove the screw and remove the Guide Cover (A) in the direction of the arrow.

  25. Remove the two screws securing the Cable Guide (A).

    When removing the screws, if the screwdriver interferes with the ADF/SCN Unit, use a stubby screwdriver.
  26. Peel off the CRCM FFC (B) from the CRCM FFC Sheet (A).
  27. Peel off the double-sided tape at two locations and then remove the CRCM FFC Sheet (A).
  28. Disconnect the cables (B) from the connector (CN20, CN51, CN56) of the Relay Board (A).
  29. Remove the acetate tape (A), and release the cable (B) from the two guides.
  30. Disconnect the two cables (B) from the connectors (CN74, CN80) of the Main Board (A).
  31. Remove the two screws, and release the ground wire (A) from the slit to remove it.

    Attach the ground wire with the terminal (A) oriented as shown below.
  32. Move the Cable Guide as shown below.
  33. Peel off the double-sided tape at 5 locations on the CRCM FFC (A).
  34. Disconnect the FFCs (CN67,CN66, CN68) from the Main Board (A).
  35. Disconnect the CRCM FFC (B) from the Main Board (A).
  36. Disconnect the cables (B) from the connectors (CN2, CN10, CN12, CN22, CN30, CN31, CN54) on the Relay Board (A).
  37. Release the cables from the five tabs on the Frame Base.

    Cables to be routed to A and B in the figure below are as follows.

    • Ink End Sensor (C/M) (CN30)
    • Ink End Sensor (Bk/Y) (CN31)
    • Ink Leak Sensor 2 (CN12)
    • Ink leak sensor 1,3,4 (CN54)
    • Temperature and Humidity Sensor(CN10)

    B
    • Drawer Connector (CN2)
    • Cover Open Sensor (CN22)

    If the old Ink Supply Unit is installed, refer to the following procedure. Note that the parts in the unit are not compatible between the old and new units.

    1. Disconnect the cables from the connectors (CN2, CN10, CN11, CN12, CN22, CN30, CN31, CN54, CN55) on the Relay Board (A).

    2. Release the cables from the five tabs on the Frame Base.

      • Temperature and Humidity Sensor(CN10)

      B
      • Drawer Connector (CN2)
      • Cover Open Sensor (CN22)
  38. Pull the Decompression Pump Cable (A) out from the hole of the Frame Base, and remove the ferrite core (B).
  39. Disconnect the Decompression pump cable (A) from the connector of the Main Board.
  40. Remove the three screws that secure the Ink Supply Unit (A).

  41. Remove the two screws that secure the Ink Supply Unit (A).

  42. Remove the three screws that secure the Ink Supply Unit (A).

    Caution / 注意
    • In order to prevent injuries from the edge of the metal frame (A), use gloves when lifting the printer.
    • Lift carefully so as not to touch the PF scale (A) on the left side of the main body. If you touch the PF scale, clean it with a clean cloth.
  43. Lift to the position shown in the figure, and separate Printer (A) and Ink Supply Unit (B).

  44. Remove the three screws, then remove the Retard Roller Assy (A).

    Assembly / 組み立て

    When attaching the retard Roller Assy (A), make sure to align the positioning hole on the Retard Roller Assy with the dowels on the Frame Base (B).
  45. Remove the two screws that secure the ASF Drive Gear Assy (A).

    Caution / 注意

    Do not remove the ASF Drive Gear Assy (A) too far since the Cassette Paper Detection Sensor (B) is inside the ASF Drive Gear Assy (A), and the cable (C) is connected to the Cassette Paper Detection Sensor (B).
  46. Release the cable (A) from the two hooks and notch, then disconnect the cable (A) from the connector of the Cassette Paper Detection Sensor (B).
  47. Remove the ASF Drive Gear Assy (B) from the Drive Gear Shaft (A), then remove the ASF Drive Gear Assy (B).


  48. Release the four hooks to remove the Cassette Paper Detection Sensor (B) from the ASF Drive Gear Assy (A).
