Print Head
This product employs the µTFP4 head.
The µTFP4 head features dense nozzle pitches (600 dpi). In addition, the number of nozzles per row is also greater with the row length of 1.33 inches.
These features contribute to higher image quality and faster printing by increasing both the quantity and the density of ink droplets per shot.

The nozzle arrangement of the μTFP4 head mounted on this printer differs from that of the traditional printers. The nozzles of the same color are not arranged next to each other.

This product uses off-carriage type ink supply mechanism.
Therefore, the Print Head is equipped with self-sealing valves so that the amount of ink fired from the Print Head is not affected by variation in pressure inside the ink path caused by movements of the carriage or ink supply operations.
(Self-sealing valve: this valve opens only when the pressure of the output side drops below a specified value. Because of this characteristic of the valve, pressure variation in the input side does not affect the output side.)
This product has an additional pressurization cleaning mechanism (a Pressure CL Unit is built into the Print head), which improves cleaning performance.
Head angular mecha adjustment
This section explains the head angular mecha adjustment for adjusting the inclination of the Printhead on the CR Unit physically.
The nozzle arrangement of the μTFP4 head mounted on this printer does not have nozzles of the same color next to each other.
Therefore, the influence of the posture (inclination) of the Print Head of this printer on the print quality is greater than that of the traditional printers' Print Heads.
There are two ways to correct inclination of the Print Head: software correction using the adjustment program, and physical correction by turning the head angular adjustment dial mounted on the carriage mechanism based on the results of visual confirmation of the adjustment pattern printed by the adjustment program.
In this adjustment, the inclination of the Print Head is defined as the amount of misalignment of the nozzles (3) on row H (H) and the center points of the spaces between the nozzles on row A (A) shown in below figure. The purpose of the adjustment is to eliminate the misalignment (the inclination of the Print Head) completely.

Range of adjustment
By rotating the head angular adjustment dial (C) on the CR unit (A), the Printhead (B) is rotated on the pivot point on the bottom.
The relationship between the rotational direction of the Head Angular Adjustment Dial and that of the Printhead is as follows.

The resolution performance of the Head Angular Adjustment Dial is approximately 12μm, and adjustable up to ± 144μm.
