# Normal Errors

Occurs if the paper did not reach the feed sensor when paper feeding was executed.
(Occurs only immediately after feed roller maintenance.)

Check the feed roller attachment state and reattach the feed roller.
* If this error occurs again later, isolate the cause as described in the remedy procedure for the not feeding error.

Load paper into the corresponding cassette or tray.
If this error subsequently occurs frequently, refer to the following.

• Stack collapsed error

Load paper into the corresponding cassette or tray.
If this error is not resolved, refer to the following.

• No paper error

Attach the paper cassette.
If this error is not resolved, refer to the following.

• No cassette error

Displayed when the loaded paper size does not match the printer settings.

Occurs when the paper size detected during printing, such as by paper width detection, differs from the set size.

Occurs when printing ends or the power turns on if the print count of the corresponding cassette has reached the number of pages for its life.
* The “B roller” shown on the control panel indicates the roller of the Rear paper feed tray (Rear ASF Unit).　

• Temporarily turn the error display off (if will continue use without replacing the part).
  Press the [OK] button in the Error screen. (The error will be displayed later every 300 sheets or when the power is turned on.)

• Replace the part and reset the internal counter.
  * If "B Roller" is displayed, replace the Rear ASF Unit.

Close the cover with a error.
If this error is not resolved, refer to the following.

• Cover open error

Rear cover open error (optional cassette)

Occurs when the following three conditions are met when the number of print sides of the I/S Maintenance Unit are at a certain threshold value or below.

• When the threshold value or below is reached

• When the printer is started up at the threshold value or below

• When the designated number of prints have been printed after the previous end error has been displayed

  
  End value (threshold): 300,000 sheets, Specified number of print sides: 300

• Press the release key.

• Replace the periodic replacement parts, then reset the life counter of periodic replacement parts.

Displayed at the point in time when the number of sheets for replacement of a periodically replaced part has reached 97%.
* The “B roller” shown on the control panel indicates the roller of the Rear paper feed tray (Rear ASF Unit).

Press the [OK] button in the Error screen.
(The error will be displayed later every 300 sheets or when the power is turned on until the end of life of the part is reached.)

Maintenance Unit near end warning

When the product life of replacement parts (I/S Maintenance Unit) reaches below a certain threshold

Near end value (threshold): 291,000 sheets

• Press the release key.
  (This is a warning and continued use is permissible)

• Replace the periodic replacement parts, then reset the life counter of periodic replacement parts.

Occurs when the following three conditions are met when the number of print sides of the I/S Maintenance Unit are at a certain threshold value or below.

• When the threshold value or below is reached

• When the printer is started up at the threshold value or below

• When the designated number of prints have been printed after the previous end error has been displayed

  
  End value (threshold): 300,000 sheets, Specified number of print sides: 300

Turn OFF the printer, and reset the counter after replacing the periodic replacement parts.

(This is a warning and continued use is permissible.

After replacement of periodic replacement parts, the error will still occur if the counter is not reset.)

• Temporarily turn the error display off (if will continue use without replacing the part).
  • Press the [OK] button in the Error screen.

    
    (The error will be displayed later every 3000 sheets.)

• Replace the printer main unit

When this warning occurs, printing continues without being stopped.
The displayed warning can be closed by the user.
This warning is no longer displayed to the user by disabling the automatic extension function.
Repair is required to restore the automatic extension function again.

Close the ADF cover.

Open the ADF Cover, wipe dirt off the gap sensor, and close the cover.

Send the documents in several batches. Enable the direct sent setting to send it.

The available memory is insufficient to receive a fax, or received a document of more than 100 pages.

Process the in box data (print, cancel, or delete).

  • Select Monochrome.

• Release the media setting (write protection).
• Connect media that is not write-protected.

• Reconnect the media.
• Connect different media. (A folder must be created by storage dedicated folder creation.)

Occurs when the connected fax extension unit fails.

[Multiport] Fax extension unit, firmware version mismatch

Occurs when the firmware version of the connected fax extension unit does not match the printer firmware.

Execute the firmware update by contacting service support or by user operation.

[Multiport] Fax extension unit, disconnection during operation

Occurs when the connected fax extension unit was physically disconnected during operation.

[Multiport] Fax extension unit, update required

Occurs when an operation defect occurs during startup, for example, by a power interruption during writing of the fax extension unit firmware.

If this is not restored after the update, replace and restore by contacting service support.

• Check the DNS settings of the printer.
• Check the DNS server settings.

• Check the SMTP server address and port.
• Check the POP3 server address and port.
• Check the network setting related items.
  IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway → Perform email server connection diagnosis (Scan to Email function only)

Scan to Email - S/MIME encryption certificate error

Occurs when the encryption certificate has expired in the encryption use settings.

Register a certificate with a valid expiry date as the encryption certificate.

Scan to Email - S/MIME signature certificate error

Occurs when the signature certificate has expired in the signature use settings.

Register a certificate with a valid expiry date as the signature certificate.

• Check the DNS settings of the printer.
• Check the DNS server settings.

• Check that the following save destination settings are correct.
  • Communication mode
  • Folder path
  • Communication mode
  • Port number
• Check that the network cable is physically connected.
• Check the network setting related items.

• Remove the file with the same name in the save destination folder.
• Set the file header to a different string and try again.

Scan to folder - File size excess

Occurs when the data size of one file has reached its upper limit for a PDF/multi-page TIFF.

Either lower the resolution or set a higher compression ratio.

Occurs if not connected to the Epson Connect server due to one of the following reasons.

• When the login process is performed after printer startup but a destination search is started during the process.
• When login processing fails due to a communication error

• Check that there is a connection to the network.
• Wait for a moment, and try again.

Displayed when the destination is incorrect.
(Occurs if the destination information on the server is rewritten during the period from acquiring the destination list to transmitting the data.)

Check that the destination PC is not communicating with another printer.

(If communication is in progress, confirm that the communication has been completed and try again.)

Scan to Document Capture Pro Server - Communication error

Review the settings of the mail server, correct it to the correct setting value (dependent on the customer's environment), and set up the mail server.

Occurs when the version of Option Ether is older than the version requested by the product.

Update the product version with Option Ether connected.

Occurs when Option Ether startup processing is not completed normally.

Occurs when a failure-related error response is returned from the TPM chip and encryption/decryption processing is not possible.

Replace the TPM chip during repair. Perform initialization after TPM chip failure or perform a USB memory import after TPM chip failure.

Fully initialize and restore after replacing password encryption TPM chip

Occurs when initialization after TPM chip failure is listed only once as a history log.

Occurs when initialization after TPM chip failure is listed only once as a history log.

• Increase the storage space in the memory device.
• Reduce scan data (reduce resolution and compression ratio).

Scan to External Memory - Blank pages skipped
No file is stored because all pages are blank

• Occurs if user authentication failed.
• Occurs if the setting for permitting execution of a job with no authentication information is set to “Prohibit” when a print job with no authentication information (user name and password) is received.

• Check the user name and password is correct.
• Enable the setting of permission for executing a print job without authentication information.

• Perform a firmware update again.
  In the case of 1. on the left, only update using an exe file from a PC via a USB cable is possible.
  In the case of 2. on the left, update using an exe file or firmware update using a USB memory in service support mode are possible.
• If the printer does not recover from the error after re-running the firmware update, a poor connection between boards is suspected, so check the connection with the Additional Cassette and SCN Unit, and run the firmware update again.
• If the error still occurs, try to update the firmware with the Additional Cassette or SCN Unit removed.
