Gap IF adjustment error (error code: 100043)

Cause
  • Shifts to this error if the light-receiving voltage for Gap sensor (Document Distance Sensor) is not within a normal range.

  • If paper is detected when you set the light intensity for the Gap sensor (Document Distance Sensor), or if the difference with the previous light-intensity setting value is large (paper remains in the Gap sensor unit, or it is judged to be dirty)

  • Misadjustment when replacing unit

Suspected cause
  • Gap sensor defect

  • Gap sensor prism defect

  • Duty, Foreign object, jammed paper remaining

Troubleshooting

Check for dirt and foreign objects

Check that there are no dirt or foreign objects on the Document Distance Sensor, and the prism that is paired with the Document Distance Sensor.

Go to step 2

Turn the power supply on and off after removing the dirt or foreign objects.

Check the connection state of the FFC

Check that the Document Distance Sensor FFC (CN10) is not disconnect. Is the FFC connected correctly?

Replace the following parts in sequence, and check the change in status of each replaced part.

  1. ADF Board
  2. ADF unit

(If the trouble is not resolved,  inquire at Epson Service Support department.)

Reconnect the FFC.
