Ink Supply Tube Assy

When replacing this part, you need to run the menu from the service support mode before replacing it.

  • Ink Supply Tube Assy Before Parts Replacement

  1. Remove one screw.

  2. Slide the Right SC Cover (A) while pushing the dent (B) of Right SC Cover, and release the three tabs. Remove the Right SC Cover (A).
  3. Remove one screw.

  4. Slide the Left SC Cover (A) while pushing the dent (B) of Left SC Cover, and remove it.
  5. Remove one screw, and remove the Lower SC Reinforcing Plate (A).

  6. Reattach the Lower SC Reinforcing Plate (A) in its portrait orientation, then secure it with the screw.

  7. Remove the screw.

  8. Open the ADF/SCN Unit (A).
  9. Open the ADF/SCN Unit (A) and extend the support stand (B) as far as it goes, then support the ADF/SCN Unit with the support stand.


    Caution / 注意

    Make sure that the support stand (A) is fixed with the two hooks, and the two triangle marks (B) face to each other.
    Check Point / チェックポイント

    When closing the ADF/SCN Unit (A), press the switch (C) on the ADF/SCN support stand (B) and hold up the ADF/SCN Unit to disengage the two hooks, then fold the ADF/SCN support stand.
  10. Remove the screw.

  11. Release the Hook, then slide the Front Right Cover (A) to direction of arrows and remove it.
  12. Remove the five screws. (one of them is also securing the panel ground wire)

    There is a place to fasten the grounding wire (B) together when fixing the panel (A).
  13. Remove the two FFC clamps (A).
  14. Release the Panel FFC (A) and the grounding wire (B) from the guide (C).
  15. Open the Front Cover Assy (A).
  16. Slide the panel unit  (A) rightward to remove it.


  17. Put the Panel Unit (A) at the rear side of the printer.


  18. Remove the Stacker Assy (A).
  19. Remove the seven screws, then remove the Front Housing Frame Assy (A).

  20. Move the CR Unit (A) to the print head replacement position.


  21. Remove the thee screws that secure the joint portion of ink tube (A).

  22. Remove the ink tube joint portion.

    Caution / 注意

    To prevent the ink tube joint portion from being damaged, hold the frame (A) of the ink tube joint portion with both hands and remove the joint portion straight upward.

  23. Release the 2 hooks and remove the FFC Clamp (A).
  24. Disconnect the Head FFC Assy (B) from the connectors (CN2, CN9, CN51, CN55, CN609) on the PCB Head Relay Board (A) .
  25. Peel off the Double-sided tape and remove the Head FFC protection sheet (A).
  26. Release the two hooks, and remove the FFC guide plate (B) from the ink tube joint portion(A).
  27. Release each hook of the clamp (A), and remove the ink tube (B) from the clamp.
  28. Release two hooks of the clamp (A), and remove the ink tube (B) from the clamp.


  29. Remove two screw, then remove the Ink Tube Guide Holder (A).

    Assembly / 組み立て

    When fixing the ink tube (A) to the clamp (B), align the clamp with the dotted line on the ink tube.
  30. While releasing the following two assembly points, slide the FFC holder (A) in the direction of the arrow to release the six hooks, and then remove the head FFC Assy (B).
    1. Release one hook of the FFC holder.
    2. Remove the end of the torsion spring (C) from the hole in the frame.
  31. Open the Paper Jam Clear Cover (A).
  32. Remove the screw on the rear side of the product, then remove the Paper Jam Clear Cover Holder (A).

  33. Disconnect the cable (B) from the connector of the Paper Jam Clear Cover Sensor (A).
  34. Remove the four screws that secure the Rear RIPS Housing Assy (A).

  35. Remove the Rear RIPS Housing Assy (A) pulling out the cable (C) through the hole (B) of the assy.


    Assembly / 組み立て

    Before reinstalling the Rear RIPS Housing Assy (A), remove the Paper Jam Clear Cover Sensor (B). After connecting the cable, install the sensor to the Rear RIPS Housing Assy.
  36. Remove the two screws on each side.

  37. Release the two hooks on each side and remove the two Ink Pack Cover Belts (A).
  38. Release each hook and remove the two Hinge Covers (A).


  39. Remove the Ink Pack Cover (B from the three hinges (A).


  40. Remove the four screws fastening the Left Housing (A).

  41. Remove the two dowels.
  42. Remove the rib on the front side while lifting up the Left Housing (A).
  43. Remove the rib on the back side while lifting up the Left Housing (A), release the hook (B) and then remove the Left Housing (A).
  44. Move the Lock Lever (A) in the direction of the arrow to set the Ink Pack Cover lock in the released state.
  45. Remove the two screws fastening the Left RIPS Housing Assy (A).

  46. Remove the two screws fastening the Left RIPS Housing Assy (A).

  47. Lift the Left RIPS Housing Assy (B) and rotate in the direction of the arrow while releasing the two hooks to release the interfering unit (A) behind the Left RIPS Housing Assy (B).
  48. Remove the three ribs and remove the Left RIPS Housing Assy (A).


    Assembly / 組み立て

    When mounting the Left RIPS Housing Assy (A), mount by aligning the Lock Lever Shaft (B) and the receiving part (C).
  49. Open the Duplex Print Cover (A).
  50. Remove the seven screws.

  51. Press the Rear Housing Assy (A) in the direction of the arrow, then release the hook.
  52. Remove the Rear Housing Assy (B) while releasing the place interfering with the Rear ASF Unit (A).
  53. Release the Cable from two clamps (A).
  54. Disconnect the cable (C) from connector (B) of Power Supply Unit (A).
  55. Remove the four screws and then remove the Rear ASF Unit (A).

  56. Remove the six screws fastening the Power Supply Unit Mounting Plate (A).

  57. Lift up the frame and remove a dowel (A).
  58. Lift up the Power Supply Unit Mounting Plate (A), turn it in the direction of the arrow, and remove the two ribs (D) while releasing the unit interfering (C) with the Side Frame (B).
  59. Remove the Power Supply Unit Mounting Plate (A).


    Assembly / 組み立て

    Before tightening the screws, make sure the positioning points are correctly assembled with reference to the figure below.

    • A: Interfering Unit
    • B: Rib
    • C: Dowel
  60. Remove the screw fastening the Tube Guide (A).

  61. Remove the interfering unit, and retract the Tube Guide (A) to the back side.
  62. Remove the six cable clips (A) and release the cables from the tube guides (B).


  63. Remove the screw that secures the Ink Tube Holder (A).

    Caution / 注意

    When removing or attaching the Ink Tube Holder (A), move it straight up or down to prevent its inlet from being tilted.
  64. Rotate the Ink Tube Holder (A) counterclockwise, and then remove the its.
  65. Pull out the ink tube from the area enclosed in the red frame in the illustration, and remove the ink supply tube Assy (A).


    Assembly / 組み立て

    When routing the ink tube (A) near the ink supply unit (Y), route the ink tube (A) in the order of (B), (C), (D) and (E).

    • B: Cyan
    • C: Magenta
    • D Black
    • E: Yellow

After replacing this part, you need to run the menu from the service support mode.

(If you ran the Before-replacement menu before replacing the part, it will start automatically when you turn the power on.)
