Troubleshooting
Step Check and measure Yes No
1

Check the paper

Check that suitable paper (paper is not printed or does not have any punch holes, etc.) is being used.

Has the appropriate paper been used?

Go to step 2

Use appropriate paper, as the printer cannot properly detect paper with pre-printed or perforated paper.

2

Check the settings

Check the settings of the main unit/printer driver listed below.

  • Main unit settings: Check that the paper type/size settings and actual loaded paper are appropriate.
  • Driver: Check that a value other than 0 is not input for the offset in the extended settings.

Are the printer/driver settings appropriate?

Go to step 3

Change the settings.
If the symptom is not resolved, judge that this needs to be dealt with by a service engineer, and go to step 3.

3

Check the feed rollers and conveyance rollers

Check the state of the feed rollers and conveyance rollers as shown below.

    • Is the each roller’s surface dirty from paper dust etc.?
    • Is not the each roller damaged or worn out?

Nozzle condition is excellent?

Go to step 4

Clean or replace the feed rollers. See "Retard Roller".

4

Check the PE sensor lever

Check that the state and movement of the PE sensor lever are normal.
Execute the PE Sensor Check from the service support mode.

Nozzle condition is excellent?

Go to step 5

Replace the PE sensor lever
If nozzle missing is not improved after performing the above, go to step 5.

5

Check the PE sensor adjustment value

Check that the PW sensor process adjustment value is appropriate.
(Execute the following item from the service support mode.)

  1. 60128 Cassette PE Adj.
  2. 60129 Rear ASF PE Adj.
Go to step 6 Enter an appropriate value from the adjustment pattern.

  1. 301 Failure Diagnostics Sequence
    • 30112 PW Sensor Shutter Check
  2. 60124 PW Sensor Correction

Contact Epson local service representatives.
